Nintendo has issued its early 2012 videogame release schedule, and believe it or not, there's some quality info lurking in there. The big release is undoubtedly Kid Icarus: Uprising -- it's going to be available for 3DS as of March 23, 2012.
There's also that Circle Pad Pro to worry about (or not). According to Nintendo, the optional add-on is coming to the United States on February 7. It's only being sold through GameStop, both at store locations and online, for $19.99. Okay then!
Another fun surprise is that when Rhythm Heaven Fever releases for Wii on February 13, it'll retail for $29.99. Somewhere, Jonathan Holmes is freaking out. Speaking of the console, we've got Mario Party 9 as well, which is planned for March 11. Be sure to take a look at what's on the way for the eShop.

As for everything else, I'm getting the Circle Pad, Snake Eater 3D, and RE: Revelations.
So over two Nintendo devices, I'm getting like 3 games over 3 months, and one of them is basically a port with 3D effects...not great, but it's better than average I guess...
I also like how this list essentially confirms Wiiware and DSiware are dead.
Are we looking at the same eshop?
Also, i think the GS exclusivity of the slidepad pro gives credence to the theory that it is just an optional accessory, and will most likely not become a necessary hardware upgrade.(meaning no 3ds lite with 2 sticks.)
Wiiu title.

...This is shit to you? What?
Elsewhere, things also look alright. The eShop is getting some steam and new franchises, the DS lives on as a sort of portable legacy system, and the Wii actually has a game or two of note this winter. Not bad.
Luigi's Mansion 2, where are you? We got some work to do now.
Luigi's Mansion 2, I don't see you...why haven't you been dated?
Have you been pushed back, cause that would mean...that I would be less elated.
You know we got a mystery to solve...those ghosts are sneaking up behind your back (Uh-uh, uh-uh Don't Look Back!) And Luigi's Mansion 2 if you come through you're going to have your self a happy fan, cause you the man.
Luigi's Mansion 2, where are you, I'm ready and I'm willing
If I could buy you now it's what I'd do, And we'd go catch King Boo.
Two of those look interesting (Renegade Kid Mutant Mudds Q1 -WayForward Mighty Switch Force Q1). The rest are ports, and one pretty bad looking game (Sakura). There is one Virtual Console game in there...one game.
Overall, the big picture looks piss poor compared to the eShop godliness Reggie promised starting this Winter/2012 - that's everything they cared to announce for all of the first quarter (first four months). There are more interesting games in just one week on Xbox Live or the PSN, new or retro.
I am all over this fucking game already, I can't wait, hnfdgjnkdn.
Also Kirby's Block Ball is probably the best arkanoid game ever and the best Kirby Spin-off in my opinion. Also the last game in which Gunpei Yokoi was involved. I love that game.
@mag
Sakura is supposed to be like punchout with samurais. That sounds awesome to me.
Are you retarded? Lots of those games are already excellent games on other systems, so we already know that VVVVV, NightSky, and Zen Pinball are great games. The sequels to Jett Rocket, and Fun! Fun! Minigolf from Shin'en should be as good, or better than there predecessors, which we're really good games.
Mutant Mudds and Mighty Switch Force both look awesome, plus new IP's from Nintendo is always welcome in Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword, and Dillon's Rolling Western. Pushmo proves that, because its fanfuckingtastic. So don't judge these games by only reading there names on a list. Look into them first, you might actually be surprised, at how many good games there are on that list!
Agreed on Sakura. I just watched the trailer for it and I have to say it looks like a perfect little downloadable game. It certainly looks better than Dillon's Rolling Western did back at e3.
So many games in just a three month time span. Hopefully April - June and July - September will be as fruitful.
a) Ports != shit. All three are great games, especially Zen Pinball, while both NightSky and VVVVVV have never been released outside of the PC.
b) Sakura Samurai and Rolling Western look very promising. The former is like a modern Punch-Out with SAMURAIS (!!!), and the latter a tower defense/action strategy game. Can't really go wrong with either, in my opinion, but to each their own.
c) That comment about better PSN/XBLA games being released in one week is horseshit. I haven't bought a single new PSN game in over a month; I would buy any of those eShop titles on day 1.
Too bad they don't sell eShop cards in the UK.
ANYWHERE.
I'm quite optimistic for Sakura Samurai. I dig the Captain Rainbow-meets-Ganbare Goemon art style especially.
Also that eShop Q1 list is fantastic. Honestly I was thinking we'd get VVVVVV & NightSKy in 2013. I'm so stoked I'm gonna get these early next year. Lots of good stuff coming to eShop it seems like by the end of Q1 it will have already surpassed DSiware in quality.
Taking a break from the basement COD party? Please run into heavy traffic soon.
Iwata has stated that game prices should be a point of discussion in the industry, or something like that. And 3ds games are free to be any price the publisher wants, which isn't all good.(resident evil R is going to be
$50)
best game
I may just have to buy a 3DS points card after all.
