They finally did it. The group at Introversion has locked in a release date for Xbox LIVE Arcade's Darwinia+. It's coming out on Wednesday, February 10 for 1200 Microsoft Points.
As Mark on the studio's forum says, "It’s been a long battle with Microsoft and their particularly high standards; in the end we are really thankful for their advice and help in completing this long and challenging game project."
"We have come to think of Darwinia+ as the Directors Cut as it has surpassed our expectations of what we were originally looking to create and now looks and feels smoother than ever. As Darwinia+ is our first adventure onto a games console this also marks an extra special celebration for Introversion."
Awesome. Congrats on the job well done, guys. While we wait for February to roll around, enjoy this little promo video to bring you up to speed/remind you of what the game is all about. Go pixelmen, go!
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

I got this in the steam sale but for some random reason, the mouse doesn't run smooth. If it doesn't work on my iMac (that is via boot camp) i will try it on xbla
Of course it's $15, guess I shouldn't expect anything less from MS. This looks awesome, and I've wanted to try it out ever since I first saw it a few years ago. Plus, my PC can't even run Darwinia properly (I hate it).
The same reason a 2010 sports game is more expensive than the 2009. New versions cost more than old versions, they have to cover development costs etc, plus they can get away with it easier.

It isn't the company's job to QA every game that is released. You think Sony or Nintendo do it? MS does have more involvement over XBLA games though, as they have to fit certain specifications to work on XBLA, and keep a consistency going. I'm sure PSN has some type of certification process too, same as Nintendo. That's just how it is. In short, a company can't possibly fully test 1000+ games on a system. Thats why developers have, ahem, QA testers. That's who you should be complaining to.
Got them both during the holiday sale for $3. Never got into it. It's too slow, I don't have all day to make a squad and have them plod halfway across the map to where the action is while my engineers just kinda roam around until they get themselves killed & I have to make another one and have IT float all the way across the map...
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Nah, it seriously looks like a pretty cool/interesting game, might have to check it out. Definitely digging the music on the trailer as well.
Well, since it's $15 on Steam as well, and this version supposedly has more features, it seems like $15 is a pretty fair deal...
End of discussion. 2 good games.

This version is Darwinia plus Multiwinia, which, on Steam, runs you 15 smackers.
