THQ has revealed that Darksiders II is coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on June 26. Huzzah! It's also revealed the various pre-order bonuses available at different retails. Huh ... zuuuhr.
Without further ado, here's the extra stuff you can get, and where you can get it:
- GameStop: "Death Rides" pack consisting of exclusive sidequests.
- Best Buy: "Angel of Death" pack consisting of angelic armor, unique scythes, and special "trail" for the companion crow, Dust.
- Amazon: "Deadly Despair" pack consisting of a permanent speed boost for Death's horse, Despair.
Ah, pre-order incentives. Because the internal conflict of indecisive customers fuels the infernal engine powering our favorite industry.
Silly DLC saturation aside, I'm looking forward to this game immensely. You can check out the pre-order chicanery in the attached gallery.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
;_;
Then again, who am I to decide when I'm not even getting this game.
Retailer-specific preorder incentives? Fucking hell.
The 4 horsemen do not approve of your trolling.
Also won't it be either majorly lame/hilarious when we get to use the other horsemen? Famine and plague are somewhat harder to market!
Actually scratch that I want to play as famine way more than death.
Actually, Twilight Princess wasn't THAT good. :)
Also, in the comic universe whre Darksiders originates from the other two horsemen are Fury (a gal with a flamewhip and claws) and Strife (dude with guns). I was wondering as well why they'd go with Death on this one instead the last one (i there are more, i sure hope so).
Ummm...quests...as in more actual game playing...as opposed to a faster horse/armor stuff...and they don't have the best?
Except they are called Fury and Strife iirc
I'm going to guess that they forego making a game for each horseman, and after this when Death sorts out the War fiasco (or doesn't) they all get together and bring the hurt down ala the end of Darksiders 1 considering this game doesn't play off the end of the first.
(Please let it be all three)
Sucks, I enjoyed the first game and was looking forward to this. Now I'll be waiting until it drops to $30 or so.
Retailer exclusive stuff annoys me almost as much as online passes and the like.
You can't beat extra content, though. It looks like I'll end up pre-ordering at Gamestop.
