Darkest of Days PC demo set for tomorrow photo

Darkest of Days, the game that allows players to relive history's greatest battles with weapons from the future, is getting a juicy demo for PC tomorrow. Unlike the Batman: Arkham Asylum demo which was short and sweet, this one will weigh in at an hour of gameplay.

The PC demo gives access to two of the game's battles, the Battle of Little Big Horn and the Battle of Antietam. Have you ever daydreamed about going back in time with a machine gun? Well, now you don't have to.

Oh, and no word on an Xbox 360 demo, at least not yet. I wouldn't be too shocked if one eventually comes out, though, so let's all play the waiting game.

It's as if my boredom-spawned fantasies have all come true...

Why have I never heard of this game?

The concept sounds amazing!

Saw it this morning on Xplay. It looks horrible.

@magesx: that's exactly what I thought. I was thinking that it was a early bulid an wasn't coming out for months but ugh. nice concept though surprised this hasn't been done earlier.

I hope this game at least plays well. I just want to rent it for the pure hilarity of it.

Stupid.

This sounds like it should just be a mod for an already released game.

With expectations this high I can't imagine it has a chance of living up to them.

@Sam
What makes this premise stupid exactly? I'm curious as I think it sounds entertaining.

Going back in time with a machine gun? That will be incredibly easy. An interesting idea though. I've always wondered what if one modern US Army soldier in full battle gear went back in time. He'd be like Master Chief to those people.

Hmm, I have to say this video made me a little more intrigued to play this game.

@Arkhon - My understanding is that as a sort of rogue agent you start with period weapons. You can acquire futuristic weapons by slaying teams of "time agents" with the period weapons that you have. It didn't look over easy.

@dtomek:

I just don't think it's a cool idea to base an entire game off of. It just sounds like a mod. "Oh check me out, I have an SMG during the Civil War! lolololol!" It just seems like a stupid game.

But then again it is coming out for the PC so it's free like a mod anyway.

Wait what?

Wow

I want this. It's basically a god game of FPS. I mean who hasn't once dreamed of going back and mowing down a bunch of guys with swords?

They might pull some time travel premise out of the game, which would explain SMGs in the Civil War. There was a game called Mortyr that had a similar plot. Dude from the future went into the past to stop the Nazis from taking over. Eventually, he ends up with crazy future weapons while kicking Nazi ass.
