EA released a new gameplay trailer for Dante's Inferno and you can watch it by clicking the little play button above.
They spend a fair bit of time focused on the ridable monsters bit, but we already saw this stuff in the demo. Other highlights include a badass, winged demon and an example of some sort of swinging section as Dante traverses a strange pathway made of statues.
It looks pretty, I'll give them that, and the action seems solid if a little sluggish for my tastes. I'm still not entirely certain if I'm going to buy the game when it releases, however. With God of War coming out just five weeks later, I think I know where my third-person action dollars are likely going to be spent.

It's nothing new.
It's nothing special.
But I like the story and the gameplay. I'll have it beat with plenty of time to spare before GoW3 comes out.
I want to say I'll enjoy GOW3 more (I hated 2)
..but I cant.
Like, people say it's pretentious to say, "This is what's wrong with video games," but...Dante's Inferno is *everything* that is wrong with video games. Everything. Such is my rage, and I really should be directing my rage at socially conscious issues but...Dante's Inferno might be worse than ethnic cleansing.
Doesn't seem as much pretentious as obvious. I would say if anything seems pretentious, its the game.
It doesn't look all that great or different. I'll probably rank it up there with the Conan game that came out two years ago.
Is it me or people love to bash Dante's Inferno just cuz GoW3 exists?, from what i've seen DI looks pretty good, the previews so far seem to indicate the gameplay is well done too so why criticize what so far looks like a pretty good game that unlike GoW3 everyone with a PS3 or X360 can get, had i a PS3 i'd totally get both, but since i don't i'll settle for DI (provided the final product delivers on it's promises that is).
i played the demo for Dante's Inferno and despite it having the exact same layout as the GoW demo (among other similarities that need no pointing out) i'm still going to buy both. i'm just glad we have all these awesome games to choose from after that slump over last couple months.
even if it's not a good game, i still won't whine because i feel like i owe visceral after Dead Space.

You're pretty much correct, and thanks for saying that, as I've been trying to figure out exactly how to describe my dislike for Dante's Inferno.
It gives off the vibe of being mindlessly violence, but when you dig down it has some real thought behind it. I'm generally no fan of the hack/slash variety, but I enjoyed the demo, like where the story is heading, and look forward to its release. I think people just want something to hate every now and then, so they make up complaints subconsciously and point their fingers at something random. It just so happens to be Dante's Inferno. Don't think too hard, kiddies.
Regardless, GOW3 is going to shit all over it.
