Dante's Inferno on PC? No thanks, says EA photo

Wait a minute -- Visceral's action-adventure game Dante's Inferno isn't going to be released on PC? Huh? I had always just assumed such a version was in the works, seeing as how the game is miraculously coming to the PSP, but apparently that is not the case.

When nudged by Big Download for clarification, EA responded with the following statement: "When Dante's Inferno was originally announced in December, we attached no platforms to the project. When we came out with a first look for press in February we announced 360/PS3 and then in April we announced PSP."

"We never announced a PC SKU nor are there plans for any." Harsh. Who knows, though. There's always the off chance that Dante's Inferno will meet sales expectations and get ported over to PC down the line, right?

What's with EA suddenly not wanting to release on PC lately? Brutal Legend is going through the same odd way.

Well EA, if you're going to be like that, then I'm not even going to steal your game. Yeah. How do you like that?

DAMN you EA! DAMN YOU TO HELL!

Actually I never cared for this game.

Couldn't care less. The game itself, however, looks fantastic.

I actually JUST found out this was "supposed" to be on PC today via Goozex listing. Odd!

I dont really care. The only games in this kind of genre that are on PC (as far as I know/care) are Devil May Cry 3 and 4, and they %100 need a controller for any kind of serious play. Such a requirement is a big roadblock for good sales, especially when a decent controller can cost at least half as much as the game anyway.

Couldn't care less. Hearing about Brütal Legend, on the other hand, was kind of devastating. :(

Does this mean I actually have to physically steal a copy of a game instead of copying a digital copy from the intertubes?

Maybe it'll be released later on, or maybe stuff like Dead Space didnt sell terribly well on PC and they decided it wasn't worth bothering. Although Dead Space wasn't a great port so they might not have been that 'bothered' in the first place.

@ajaxender: I use a regular PS2 controller and a $5 converter. It also works with N64 controllers.

@Ajaxender- get a PS3 controller since it uses a USB cable. There is a free driver you can download that allows you to use it as a controller on your PC. I love it. I use it all the time when I'm NOT emulating games.

This seems like more of a PC only game vs. a console game, which leads me to think this game may not be as "deep" as I was hoping it would be. I was enjoying some of the stuff they had on their website the other day and was thinking it looked interesting, different, etc, but console only... What does PC do that makes a game have that potential to be more "sophisticated" feeling?"

Know what I mean?

Hmmm... The sooner EA gets out of the PC game business the better for all gamers. Let's hope this is a sign of the good things to come for gamers.

PC Games are generally being snubbed. I wouldnt bother buying a PC for gaming these days.
All games are now ported from Consoles to PC. Therefore if you have bought a really good PC you will have wasted your money because the game will be designed for lower end hardware. Just look at Modern Warfare 2, its a slightly tweaked engine of the first MW because consoles havnt advanced and cant! my 5 year old AMD 939 PC can handle MW2!
