The hot new thing in this industry appears to be live video streams in which members of a development studio goof off, answer questions from fans, and give a demonstration of the game in question. Yes sir, Dante's Inferno is getting one of these things!
To be more specific, the poem-turned-action-fueled-killfest will be doing these live streams on a weekly basis, the first of which starts tomorrow at 4:00 PM EST. You'll be able to join executive producer Jonathan Knight and senior producer Justin Lambros as they partake in the aforementioned fun.
And if you shoot some questions over to the team's Twitter, you may just get them answered during the show. Check back on the official site tomorrow if you're feeling this game.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Now I'm disappointed.
*sigh*
I'm really lost for words. Anyone who's read the poem will tell you this is a fucking joke.
If they changed the title and said that Dante's Inferno was their inspiration or something then it would be far less ...laughable/ridiculous.
The only good thing that will come out of this will be giving the epic masterpiece that is Dante's Inferno (divine comedy and all his other works) more attention and publicity. But apart from that: what a fucking joke.
I have many things to say on the matter:
http://heykupo.blogspot.com/2009/12/bayonettas-inferno.html
Read the poem and tell me if you don't think them using its title and universe for a videogame is ridiculous at best and a disgrace for videogames at worst.
If Beatrice (Dante's muse) shows up with big boobs, leather outfit and Ikataragi-esque cleavage appearance to grant Dante super powers to defeat his enemies , I'll lmao
, but I'm sure they wouldn't push it that far.
I forgot games were such serious business. Thank you for correcting my frame of mind.
I can understand why one might think games aren't serious business. But standing behind that point of view is as flawed as saying that films are inherently silly because of the overwhelming success of Michael Bay summer blockbusters. Dante's Inferno is swarming the game media with its marketing blitz, but there are certainly a lot of other games out there that manage to be thought provoking. Those games just don't get the same attention.
Dante's Inferno is not going to be a thought-provoking game. Its MO is to provide spectacle, not to incite meaning. Taking literature and turning it into spectacle for the sake of spectacle was destined to inspire ire.
