Dante's Inferno demo to hit PlayStation Network first photo

As promised, Electronic Arts will be delivering a Dante's Inferno demo this month. Small caveat -- PlayStation 3 owners will be getting a two-week head start.

The publisher has confirmed that the demo will hit PlayStation Network on December 10, with the demo being made available for Xbox LIVE Gold Members on December 24. Let the "PSN vs. Xbox LIVE" arguments erupt.

Called "Gates of Hell," the demo will include Dante's Inferno's entire opening level, which should help you decide whether or not you'll want to drop $59.99 on the game when it hits February 9. Or, your worst fears will be made reality, and all of your "OMG I can't believe they're doing this" comments will be justified.

Honestly this is more likely something that EA wanted to do. They want to get this in gamers' minds as soon as possible so that it actually might have a chance against God of War 3. It releases a little more than a month before GoW3, and has similar gameplay. So honestly since the 360 doesn't have this kind of competition, they can wait longer to release it. However I'm sure they are trying their best to make sure that this will actually SELL on PS3 instead of everyone just holding out for GoW3. So to appease PS3 owners, give them something exclusive for a few weeks, to say "hey, see guys we like you a lot, buy our game too!"

Why do people keep referring to demos as nothing more than an interactive ad? Don't get me wrong, at their core they're just that; but to me I get to see I want to waste my 60 bucks for their product.

who the hell cares which console it comes out first, its only a demo and its high time that the PS3 gets some lovin from other developers...

i dont really care i have all 4 current gen consoles, yes you read theres another current gen console besides Wii, 360, and PS3 *shifty eyes*

These are one of the few third party developers where they seem to use PS3 as the primary.
I've got both 360 and PS3 and have no bias to one or the other and Dead space, on my LCD HD, looked much better in the PS3 version.
So it's no suprise they demo out Dante's on PS3 first. It was probably a couple weeks further along.

Because of BIAS. What Predilectoid is doing is subconsciously saying that although this story illustrates a situation that could be seen as favorable to PS3 owners, in their secret opinion, the REAL story is the fact that the Xbots are getting screwed, as that's all that really matters at the end of the day.

P.S. - Argnoth's comment is the sharpest I've read here in weeks.
