EA Visceral’s take on The Divine Comedy won’t be confined to just the videogame Dante’s Inferno. Hitting alongside the title this February is an animated epic creatively dubbed “Dante’s Inferno.” Featuring familiar plot points and a multitude of directors, its sure to elate those who want to see Dante totally shred a monster’s head-meat with a scythe made of bone and wickedness.

According to the official release, this animated flick isn’t confined to one team's direction. Six different teams and directors are working on the project. We're not sure who is doing what and where, but its mentioned that the Ghost in the Shell and Blood the Last Vampire dudes have a hand in this thing. I'm pretty sure that's a good thing.

"Ghost in the Shell"

And with that, my interest is piqued.

On another note, does anyone else feel a little curious as to why so many things appear to be getting anime adaptations these days?

I mean hell, getting more western audiences watching it is fine by me, I'm just curious as to why so many studios have started making adaptations of very westernised games...

I guess making an anime adaption is an attempt to attract anime fans to the property including the Japaneses audience.

why is it that every time there's an anime tied to an American project we get the bastard child of several short stories with different directors and such?

Animatrix sucked
Gotham Knight was meh

considering they did it right for Dead Space you'd think they'd stick to the formula.

Yay! A story that will fly off in 6 disparate directions and cause nothing but confusion for the uninitiated and fan service for those who bought the thing just to see their favorite director/writer!

ooooo pretty... I just wished the voice acting in the trailer and plot settup seemed less cheesy. Also, I don't think that's how Dante's story went with the Divine comedy, like, at all. But okay.
