Banned, or suspended? There's a huge difference that a few people lately haven't been able to distinguish.

"Suspended" makes me think I'm getting hanged from the ceiling.
"Banned" sounds like I'mm getting my faces smashed with a baseball hat.
So, I would say it's for the impact that people say "banned" rather than "suspended", even when they mean the later.

Some MMOs say "banned" when referring to a permanent state. Some use temporary bans.
Unless the phrase has a time period indicated, do not assume anything.

...it also occurred to me that a suspension is, for all terms and purposes, a temporary ban, so they are pretty much interchangeable.
I haven't really played this yet I want to, hell I really am suprised Bioware hasn't banned everyone. Its the devs fault this exploit even exists I think a temp ban would be more justifiable than a perma ban for this situation.
Damn Bioware, you guys need to step up your game. I'm sure Blizzard is walking around all footloose listening to all that jazz they listen to over there. Heck, for all we know, Metzen and everyone else over there just start dancin' in the rain every time they see news like this.

I sorta understand why they go to great lengths to hide stuff like this from the public ..... the only problem seems to be nine times out of ten if it isn't widely abused it never gets fixed.
I would think something along these lines wouldn't be a huge issue and they could have a hotfix out by the end of the day.... proper motivation applied of course.

EA exemplifies a socialist mentality in this behavior. If the game would have had this tested, it wouldn't be a problem, but EA would rather shift the blame to it's paying customers.

@Judas - You can't find everything. The game was in development for years, it was in beta for months, and you still can't find everything. This is an unfortunate bug, but it's somewhat amusing and it doesn't last for long.
The fact that they're banning people for playing the game "wrong" has made me decide not to buy this game, I mean c'mon, it's ridiculous.
That's just embarrassing. Seems like the game is definitely suffering for being a rushed release. It probably needed 2 or 3 more months.

God dammit Jim is a fucking moron. Does he even read the shit he posts? No one is getting banned for playing the game wrong. They are getting suspended OR banned depending on the severity of their infractions. The whole credit farming bullshit was taken out of context and players were suspended because they were taking turns looting chests which made a 20 minute timer on their respawn shorten to 5 minutes on Ilum. Yes they worded it funny but fuck, reading comprehension.

The actual bans were for an organized exploit which took both Republic and Imperial players working together to achieve. The bans were also temporary. It was clearly against the EULA.

To be fair, one of the last Bounty Hunter class missions is named "Number One with a Bullet." In fact, this mission was mentioned in today's patch notes because of a bug. So even Bioware doesn't stick to the whole pew pew lazors thing.
