Dance like a mofo to this pair of Sonic music mashups
The bespectacled beanpole musician Benjamin Briggs -- and I call him that out of endearment -- has just released a pair of electro-house Sonic arrangements for your listening pleasure. Care to partake? Both tracks are mashups with the Sonic Colors's Aquarium Park theme at their center. "Trash FM" is mixed in with Sonic 3's Hyrdocity Zone, while "Dub Interface" is spliced with Sonic 3D Blast's Rusty Ruin Zone. These songs are fun and infectious, not to mention free should you so choose. What's cool about this particular release is that it is officially endorsed Sega through Joypad Records, the music label that has also obtained licenses from Nintendo for the Zelda-themed The TRIFORCE of BASS and the Pokémon-themed Kanto Symphony. I'm so pleased by how simple and painless it's become to go through the legal channels to release fan-made work. Not that I've ever been too worried that lovingly crafted fan efforts are just a hair's breath away from being stomped by some heartless company, but it's nice to have that peace of mind. Aquarium Park - Trash FM [Bandcamp]
