Man, it has been a whirlwind of a last few months for Ziff Davis/1UP/EGM. After filing for bankruptcy just a month ago, it now looks like 1UP and Electronic Gaming Monthly staple Dan “Shoe” Hsu is leaving ... for good. According to Vice President Simon Cox’s blog on 1UP, Shoe will be leaving Ziff Davis on April 25 for “change in his life.” This news comes as a shock since Shoe just announced in the last issue of EGM that he was promoted within the company (with James Mielke taking over his position as Editor-in-Chief). On a personal note: I never had the pleasure of meeting Dan, but I have been a fan of his since I was a teenager. I equated him with Electronic Gaming Monthly and it is very sad to see him go. I’m sure I am speaking for all of us here at Destructoid when I wish him the best. Good luck, Shoe. You will be missed. Next page: More EGM stories ![]()
