I'm already on my second play-through of what I called the best Mario game that Nintendo has released. That would be Super Mario Galaxy 2, the May 23rd Wii release that wowed me in so many ways that I wanted to make sure that our review (Editor's Choice!) made it perfectly clear that you should not pass on this game. Borrow a Wii if you must!

But if my word wasn't good enough for you, then how about the 31 other game reviewing outlets that also contribute to the scores on review site Metacritic? Super Mario Galaxy 2 is now ruling the charts with 32 reviews that combine to give it a Universal Acclaim rating and a metascore of 98. That's 20 outlets that have given Nintendo's latest masterpiece a "100" so far. There's a few more hard asses that took a few points off, but no score comes under a "90."

Also, there's 440 user votes on the game, and their scores combine to a 9.5 out of 10. That means that everyone loves Super Mario Galaxy 2. Haters? You've got nothing on this game.

As Bowser says in the opening of the game, "Have fun with your little mushrooms."

Yeah, I told myself that I would stop playing the game after the first hour and I looked at my watch and four hours has passed. Dangit Mario! Amazing game so far. The game is always on a roll, it never dies down with the same level designs or anything.

Definitely one of the best mario games ever. I won't as far as saying the best. But I definitely loved the game. I gave it a 9.2 / 10. Simply because the game didn't blow me away like first Galaxy did.

It demonstrates that you can make a game that's extremely intelligent in gameplay and in design and extremely, EXTREMELY fun at the same time. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is smart, elegant and fun. This game destroys the stupid and empty discussion over MATURE and INMATURE games. This game is inmortal. It's a son of it's generation but then breaks it into pieces, breaks the structure of history and climbs to the podium to have a little chat with the best videogames ever made: it's artistical, it's conscient of itself, it's a blast. It's a classic, it's inmortal, it's beautiful.

Hail Super Mario Galaxy 2 FOREVER. 10 it's NOT ENOUGH.

Mario Galaxy 2 is an awesome game. I've already collected 120 stars and I loved every level I had to complete in order to reach each star. This is my favorite Mario game so far, sorry Glaxy 1 and Super Mario Bros. 3

I'm the only one who didn't love the original Super Mario Galaxy as much as everyone else. I thought the level designs were cool, but the overall difficulty(not counting the optional ones) and length seriously needed some improvements.

I honestly didn't like the first Super Mario Galaxy, but damn, I can't deny that this game is pretty much perfect.

It's more like a 3D sequel to Super Mario Bros 3 than it is Super Mario Galaxy. And that's a good thing.

But really, I'm absolutely loving the game. It takes everything that was great about SMG1, and makes it even better. And wow, some of those stars are really killing me, but I love it anyways.

Unfortunately, the lack of good times I had with Mario Galaxy 1 is a huge discouragement from picking up Mario Galaxy 2. I think I may have played through about four or five stages before I just gave it to a friend of mine.

Much like Zelda, I think I'm just tired of Mario games. We all have to hit that point sometime, and seeing as I've been there since I played the original Mario Bros arcade game, I'd say it was a nice run.
