We've been keeping close tabs on DJ Hero around these Destructoid parts since it was announced, but of all the news I've heard, this is by far the most relevant to my personal interests. According to Rolling Stone, the newest musicians to contribute are my electronic heroes Daft Punk, marking their first apperance of any kind on a videogame.
Daft Punk will contribute eleven exclusive tracks that mash up their trademark beats with songs from Queen, Young MC and No Doubt. More from the article:
DJ Hero has meticulously digitally reproduced the robotic onstage alter egos of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, allowing gamers to assume Daft Punk’s identity while playing in a special venue that mirrors the duo’s recent stage show and lighting. “It’s the next best thing to being at a Daft Punk concert,” said Tim Riley, Activision’s VP of Music Affairs.

It would be 1000x awesome if they let you use the guitar peripherals on the Robot Rock mixes.

I'll give them a nod for getting Daft Punk (which is a good get, to be sure), but probably continue to have 0 interest in purchasing.

Oh, and I always kinda thought of Mr. Destructoid as the badass second cousin to Daft Punk. Niero, I pledge to somehow get you a backstage pass to one of their shows so you can get a picture or 40 with them.
