D3 announces Puzzle Quest focus testing in Los Angeles photo

Puzzle Quest bar mitzvah, you say? Dugog-themed barbeque? Challenge of the Warlords baby shower? I'd attend them all. I'm rabid for the original Puzzle Quest in a way I am for few games, especially games that could be described as "casual" -- I'm more of the 80 hour quest type (although PQ kind of has one, if you stretch it out long enough.) At any rate, any news with the words Puzzle Quest sends me screaming to Chad's door to beat on it (potentially scaring away the dolphins) and share the news, and this is no exception.

It seems D3Publisher of America is looking for focus testers for the new Puzzle Quest project, although whether that means Galactrix or the PQ expansion is unsure. From the press release:

Attention all Puzzle Quest fans in the Los Angeles Area!  D3Publisher of America would like to give you the opportunity to participate in upcoming focus testing for the next game in the Puzzle Quest franchise. If you own Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords on any platform and would like a chance to participate, please e-mail lisa@mindofthegamer.com and put “Puzzle Quest Research” in the subject line. All e-mails must be received by April 18th, 2008. Participants will be considered on a first come, first served basis and will be screened for some additional criteria.

I am SO JEALOUS of all you Angelenos right now. Argh! Well, sign up and get your hands dirty and then come back here and cblog about it....at least I can know what I missed!

I signed up a couple hours ago. Woo!

How great would it be if our focus group was all Dtoiders?

Tell them to re-release the DS game with the expansion and online support. Tell them!

Why couldn't it be San Diego?! Oh well no sweat... no three hour drive and LA traffic will keep me away! Quick! To the 405 and beyond!!

@Aerox:

That would be awesome! I saw this on Kotaku yesterday and emailed them. I haven't heard anything yet so far, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Man I loved that game soooo much :D

Is the Wii version of puzzle quest very good? I have it but I never got into the game and hadn't played it on xbla yet.

@ Holyetheline:

Not really, you're honestly better off getting it on XBLA or the PC version on Steam. Very sloppy port. The DS or PSP version also win for being portable.

Maybe they will get rid of the "We hate you factor" that comes in to setting up a row you think will benefit you only to have it drop in your enemies favor, big time.

I wouldn't advise anyone to get puzzle quest on the PSP as I have both PSP and DS versions and the PSP has a bug that doesn't let your party members use their special abilities at the begining of a fight!!
