Reddit user telekinetic just wanted to make a custom battery gauge for his Android phone, but one thing led to another and... well... this happened.

I've only owned an iPhone since Christmas, and though I'm happy with it, I realize that I don't have the same customization freedoms as do my Android-owning peeps. This Super Metroid skin, as you can clearly see, makes me more than just a teensy bit jealous.

I especially love what telekinetic has done with the GPS icon. When GPS is enabled, you can see blue areas of the "map" that you have "yet to visit." That map doesn't directly translate to a real-world layout, unfortunately, but it's nonetheless a clever adaptation of the map rooms' function in Super Metroid.

Dragon Quest 2 now available on iOS, Android

Dragon Quest II is now available on your phone, (not you, Windows Phone users) something that would have surely been unthinkable when the classic role-playing game first debuted over two decades ago. I'm over here imagining playing it using a rotary dial now. Thanks, Obama. Dragon Quest II [iTunes, Google Play]more

Review: Neverending Nightmares

Mental illness is terrifying. Depression is a soul vampire that will suck the light right out of you. Obsessive compulsive disorder does not make you a supernaturally great detective like it does in the movies. It makes you p...more
