Gearing up for the May release of its upcoming steampunk- and Western-inspired shooter, Damnation, Codemasters have commission a killer, custom PC.
While we've yet to see the final product, there's videos of it being built up on YouTube (you can see one of them after the jump). Designed by Jake Hildebrandt, it looks like the final product will feature stained wood and valves that can be used to turn the computer on and off. Because that's what my computer at home is missing -- valves.
But it doesn't just look crazy cool, the guts of this thing are impressive as well: an Intel Core i7 965, 12 gigs DDR3 RAM, an X57 chipset motherboard, a Dual Radeon 4870X2 card, and 1 Terabyte of hard drive. If you're not super tech-savy and you're not sure what all the means, just know that it's awesome in an obscene manner. Far more powerful than the laptop I'm using to write this.
You want this thing, don't you? Well, rumor has it you may be able to win it over the next few months in a contest being held by some videogame Web site whose mascot is a green robot. Wonder what that could mean...

Hey DaedHead8 here, THIS BITCH IS MINE!
Great stuff though. I really like the art and crazy contraptions that come out of the steam punk scene. These guys and their being so hardcore only makes me want Damnation more.
Bitches.
I think that's a way better example of a steampunk computer case.
Ehh...doesn't look like that case will get much, if any, airflow with that huge metal cover on the front. With the parts listed, the case will have to be extremely loud with high CFM fans if he doesn't want everything to cook in there.
I bet I could win an out of date computer competition against you. My "gaming rig" is rocking an AGP Radeon 9600 (non pro ). It stutters playing Megavideo. :(
