A blend of Monopoly and MTG? That sounds fantastic. Too bad the 3DS is region locked or else, I would import this thing. I have low hopes of it coming over to the West. :(

I really want this game to come to the states as well. While we're at it, I'd love a Dokapon Journey 3D as well with online play.
I dunno. I never finished Culdcept Saga because I played a three hour match where I lost right at the end by an absurdly lucky play on the part of the AI, meaning I'd have to do that battle all over again. And I was only like, 5% done with the game, I think.
The Culdcept series is amazing; however, it is also incredibly niche. Not a lot of people want to deal with a game like Culdcept, so the series gets buried in bad reviews and ignored by the average gamer. I bought a 360 because of Culdcept; I would buy a 3DS for Culdcept. Unfortunately my sale doesn't mean much in the big picture...
Darren, there is an element of luck; however, 90% of the time well-thought-out strategies bring victory over luck based strategies. However, either way the Culdcept games are better played with friends. On another note, if you are going to give Tactics Ogre a score like you did, a game that is as close to objective perfection as possible, then I don't see how Culcept could ever hold your interest. Yes, I still remember that. No, I will never forget.

Love the Culdcept, I would definately snag a copy if it came to NA. Had no idea there was even one in the works for Japan, so thanks for the info. ^.^
You are most definitely not alone. I own the PS2 version, and XBox 360 version. I even played the fan translated DS version (which was great on the go). I would LOVE a localized 3DS version!
I would stab a puppy for another version on major consoles. Been playing since the ps2 version, and I have friends who still regularly play saga on x360.
Well given the huge following that Magic the Gathering has -at least- in the US, among other card games, with the right marketing this could be a successful title, so we shouldn't write it off yet.

Wow, what a great idea. I loved Culdcept Saga for the xbox 360. What a fantastic and underrated and underplayed game. It is hilarious that you describe it as monopoly + magic the gathering because that is exactly how I described it to people too. Hahah.

It looks like this is a port of the Dreamcast/PS2 version, which makes me happy since Culdcept DS was the Saturn version.
i loved Culdcept on PS2, and was ecstatic when they unexpectedly released it for 360.
BUT i would never want to play it on a small screen as the 3DS. the game boards would just feel too cramped.
playing it on the Vita would be much more preferable. and WiFi multiplayer would be a MUST.

Buggy or not, just release a PAL version on the 360 in games on demand. Got hooked on a demo PAL OXM put on one of their discs a few years ago, but a PAL version was never released. Bah.
I loved culdcept on the ps2. I even got all 50 medals. If the 3ds version is like the ps2 version, then I'm excited, but I found the 360 version to be just awful so if it's like that I won't bother.
Also the dude that was talking about how 90% of the time well thought out strategies triumph over luck based strategy is off his rocker. First of all, there are no such things as luck based strategies, unless you're blindly picking cards. Secondly the game is more like 80% luck and 20% skill. I own all the cards possible in the game, yet someone who starts a new game and has a starter deck of 50 can beat me.
