Cue techno-goth metal: Devil May Cry 4 demo hits one million downloads on LIVE photo

Capcom shot us a quick email this evening simply to brag, and in exchange for them actually making Dead Rising 2, we're going to let them. (It should be noted that no deals were made between Destructoid and Capcom regarding Dead Rising 2, but we're always available for talks.)

Capcom wants us to know that the demo for Devil May Cry 4 hit one million downloads this past Saturday, February 9. Microsoft tells the publisher that this is the first time in 2008 that a demo has hit the million download mark, in addition to being the fastest to that number in the history of Xbox LIVE. Pretty impressive for some demo of some stupid action game no one's ever heard of, eh?

With no real numbers to back it up, Capcom are also claiming that Devil May Cry 4 has been a huge hit at retail, with reorders for the title coming in just days after the game's release. Yeah, we'll go along with the whole "people are buying our game" shtick, but are they liking it?

For those of you who picked up Devil May Cry 4 last week, is the bees knees or what? Did you pick it up on the PS3 or the Xbox 360? These are burning questions that we demand answers to. Let us know in the comments.

PS3, of course Jim. ;)

Major league butt kicking is back in town, as Donnie would say.
720p only for PS3 version kinda sucks, was hoping for 1080i, but still looks phenomenal, easily one of the best looking next-gen titles out there. With Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet and Clank, and now this, Uncharted or no, anyone who says they can't get their game up to 60 fps is a tool.

And oddly enough, once I got used to playing as Nero, I resented going back to Dante. Missed that damn Devil Bringer, you start to rely on the ability of grabbing your opponents bionic commando style and pulling them towards you for a quick and easy combo kill.

And by the way, I've seen both versions running, and I can't see any difference between the two from a graphical quality level, so lets dispense with the "________ version is much more detailed than the __________ version!" bullshit. This is 2008. That argument, short of a few hold outs (I'm looking at you, Army of Two) no longer applies.

It's good fun, but for fucks sake, is nobody calling them up for building 1/3rd of a game, then just making you play it 3 times over? Bloody Capcom.

I very tempted to get the game for PS3 after playing the demo.
My god it looks beautiful, I wish I had a HDTV to display it on. I see the Triangle and Square buttons being broken agaain just like in other DMC games.
