Capcom shot us a quick email this evening simply to brag, and in exchange for them actually making Dead Rising 2, we're going to let them. (It should be noted that no deals were made between Destructoid and Capcom regarding Dead Rising 2, but we're always available for talks.)
Capcom wants us to know that the demo for Devil May Cry 4 hit one million downloads this past Saturday, February 9. Microsoft tells the publisher that this is the first time in 2008 that a demo has hit the million download mark, in addition to being the fastest to that number in the history of Xbox LIVE. Pretty impressive for some demo of some stupid action game no one's ever heard of, eh?
With no real numbers to back it up, Capcom are also claiming that Devil May Cry 4 has been a huge hit at retail, with reorders for the title coming in just days after the game's release. Yeah, we'll go along with the whole "people are buying our game" shtick, but are they liking it?
For those of you who picked up Devil May Cry 4 last week, is the bees knees or what? Did you pick it up on the PS3 or the Xbox 360? These are burning questions that we demand answers to. Let us know in the comments.
And I absolutely love it! They added a bunch of great features that I can see being expanded upon immensely on future version. It really would have been nice if Capcom had put a Turbo Mode in or allowed you to play through all levels as either character, but that's why there's Bloody Palace right out of the box!
Nero is bad ass.
I got it for the PS3 and I like it. It's not the next best thing, but it provides good entertainment. The production values are top notch.
It's my first foray into the series, and overall, I give it the thumbs up. I'll second the preference to Nero over Dante.
Good Times.
SPOILERS!
DANTE IS FONTAINE!
This game is a solid rental, but nothing I'll return to once I'm finished.
Considering the second boss (the ice toad) kicks my ass and isnt much fun to fight(a pity, since the first boss, the fire guy, was fuckin awesome), i think thisll end up like 3 - something i jump into every now and then, to kill some basic enemy guys with style, and then put away again.
I also intend to buy the box for the DMC trilogy, that way Iget them all =D

Sorry if that didn't come out as a link. I'm noobish like that.
I do believe you're playing the game incorrectly. You did know that to perform Nero's other 3 combos (just like in DMC1 and DMC3) you have to time the button presses? Sigh, button mashers FTL.
Yes! The box set is a must buy for DMC fans as the original game is always a fun game to pick back up, and DMC3:SE is leagues ahead of the the first release with Bloody Palace and Turbo Mode... Oh, how I love teh Turboz. I really want to see DMC3:SE upscaled on a PS3.
(sorry for double post)
Demon slaying and rock and roll at its best.
I beat it once and I immediately started over on the next difficulty, and will probably do so again.
Nero is freaking amazing and Dante's new weapons kick ass.
My only complaint is that the game is too easy, am already at mission 12 on hard. That kind of sucks, but when i kill a White Knight Elite with a grapple, all is forgiven.
Playing it on Devil bringer mode and I can't beat dante around level 10 :( AHHH!! im not skillz enuff
Also, the final fights were pretty damn epic and a lot of fun to figure out. Make sure you shoot the shit out of the blue blisters!
A bit weird playing Nero and losing Dante's styles for the time being, but the devil bringer (his arm) brings an entirely new dimension to the game.
Good looking though.
Please, you act as if the combo system with tiny pauses in between your button presses is a huge stretch from button mashing. Besides, I said "button pounding"...big difference.
I know how to work the combo system (the timing of combos still sucks) and my hands still hurt because the 360 controller is a bit too small for my hands. The repeated Y,Y, *pause* Y (or whatever flavor combo I find is most effective at the time) gets to me after the hojillionth time I do it.
Maybe don't play for 10+ hours at a time? :P But seriously I take a break every couple hours with this game, otherwise it's going to be serious hand cramps.
But this game does play awesome. In comparison to DMC3, I feel it's on the same level, combat wise. But just barely. Story wise, I feel they kind of dropped the ball. There wasn't nearly enough back story on Nero, or who he was. I guess there just wasn't as much closure or answers that I wanted. But I love it. Working my way through SoS right now.
