Not being a huge Final Fantasy fan and having heard that the Crystal Chronicles series was not always up to snuff, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers was originally a game I had absolutely no interest in. However, as more and more has leaked out about it I've become quite curious about the title -- some may even say excited for it. Square Enix has sent along a "Combat Trailer" to show off a bit more of the game. It really doesn't have much combat in it, but I suppose when most of your trailers have no gameplay at all showing off any is a big commitment.
The trailer has only heightened my curiousity for the game, not simply because it actually looks like a game with a full story that plays on my Wii, but also because of cheesy voice acting. Cheesy voice acting and bad scripts are guilty pleasures of every gamer and as budgets get bigger and bigger they're going by the wayside. Judging from the closing scene of this trailer though, Crystal Bearers is going to rock that s**t hard. Combined with an interesting gameplay mechanic and impressive graphics this makes the game much closer to something I want to own.
Also, kudos to the hero for calling a clearly skinny girl fat. She should totally get to a toilet and start vomiting up health potions as soon as possible.

Hm. I can officially say that I'm sick of that voice over.
I am sometimes interested in this game and sometimes utterly disappointed in it via these trailers. It feels like they're trying to hide the game play, which is a bad thing.
Hmm, this actually looks pretty fun. I had thought previously that it was an on rails shooter [???] akin to RE: Umbrella Chronicles and the like. And, for the record, the first Crystal Chronicles [for the Gamecube] was a blast. 3 friends + Crystal Chronicles was always a good time.

Seriously, they tried to sell it as a epic game at first and then they end up with that line? wow lol. I bet the 10-15 year olds will go crazy for this game, so thats good. Don't know about the mature crowd who actually follows FF.
They should have just shown the Cow Milk laser... now THAT is impressive!

I wasn't particularly looking forward to this, but that trailer actually peaked my interest. It looks like a snazzy combination of FF12 and Twilight Princess.
The last line made me facepalm a little, though. I'd expect that from Capcom, not SE.
First off, whoever told you that the Crystal Chronicles games weren't up to snuff is wrong. The problem was that to enjoy it, you needed four GBAs, a GameCube, and four GBA-GCN link cables. Most people didn't have access to that kind of hardware, so most people didn't get to enjoy the game.
As far as that trailer, I dig the perfectly spherical explosion. It reminds me of Bomberman 64.
