Here's a bit of strange news for today: a singleplayer demo for the upcoming PC shooter, Crysis, has been dated for a September 25 release. Hmm ... does that date sound familiar to anyone? Oh yeah, that's the same day this little game called Halo 3 comes out.
I could sit hear all day trying to come up with reasons why that exact date seemed like such a good idea at some point in time, but I'll leave that up to you guys to figure out.
Then again, I guess it doesn't really matter -- it's not like this demo will only be available for a for a limited time. So when you do eventually take a break from you're Halo 3 marathon, you'll be able to play Crysis and see if you're PC can actually turn the graphics up to 11.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
please, the only people who can run Crysis properly are the PC nerds who don't play console gaming to begin with so this is going to effect Halo the way logic effects fanboys... (IT DOESN'T)
To do list:
• Wake up.
• Pick up Halo 3.
• Download Crysis.
• Install Crysis.
• Try running Crysis.
• Extinguish Laptop.
• Play Halo 3.
• Sleep.
And then totally forget you downloaded the damn demo and just continue playing Halo 3 for the rest of the year.
As for my to-do list on that day, it'll certainly only consist of crysis. I'll probably be disappointed, but meh. I'm about as non-excited about that other game as you can get.
But the story is always the same, if you want it on high detail, you'll need a good machine.
/sarcasm
forget crysis sombody wake me up when the PS3 port is announced
its creepy when the motherboard crys.
Actually, it's very backwards compatible, like the Source engine Almost everyone can run it at some level. Also, Vista x64 runs just fine for me, I haven't seen a single BSOD from it yet. It did hang randomly before I got chipset drivers installed. Just make sure you have the drivers and don't install legions of crap like AIM on it, and it's very speedy.

Crysis is at least attempting to do something different.
See?
