so tired of devlopers with low number of maps *cough cough* medal of honor *cough cough*
This looks VERY sweet!
Holy shit, what? Where were they taking 50% off pre-orders at?
that's obviously not a deal breaker though! i expect i'll pick this up for PC to play the SP campaign then possibly grab the 360 version if the multiplayer takes off, the price comes down, and i actually have time to keep playing it!
I had a 50% off coupon for the EA store! THey messed up on a PS3 pre-order for Medal of Honor so I benefited from it!
I bought 3 copies of FIFA 11(boo urns) for myself and friends, Collectors edition of Dead Space 2 and Bulletstorm back in mid October, each for 50% off! I saved $190, lol.
I eyed the crap up out of Crisis but figured I had too many games and the older Crisis games didn't tickle my fancy that much.
UGH LAME. Crysis was at its best when it was 32 players in big open maps like Plantation. Power Struggle only made it sweeter. Crysis MP's only actual problem was ultra huge maps like Mesa were to big and empty and needed something like 50 to 64 players to keep it interesting and balanced.
Now that Crysis 2's MP has been distilled into the same scaled back shlock that's being shoveled by Call of Duty I've lost total interest unless they pull it out of the dumpster labeled: generic crap.
The game sounds good... but personally I'm getting really tired of all the perk shit. It's in almost every upcoming game. Rank up and pwn newbs... yeah, I get it. Buy the game on Day 1 so you'll never be that underpowered idiot standing around in his undies with a peashooter. I just don't see the "win" in winning when I've got the hours to get all the good crap... and the people I'm playing against could be weekend warriors with next to nothing.
I'll put this game on my radar... but if it's a COD clone where there is no sense of team based gameplay... then this will be a pass (or a rental for the single player portion)

Clear the way for Red Orchestra 2, if there's any fresh and fun multiplayer shooter to play in 2011 this will be it.
@Daeltaja don't call me a monkey! that game is still fun (and there aren't connection errors every other match - im lookin at you blops). also, with all the hacking going on, the matches where you run super fast and jump 150 ft in the air are a nice change of pace and keep it from being too boring.
If it is anything like the last Crysis MP you ca not use it at the same time as other nano suit skills. Instead you use them in succession. For instance: Use max speed and before a chasm switch to max strength to leap over it keeping the inertia from max speed.
But fuck if I know how it is now since as you can see it used to be a whole other ball game in Crysis 1 MP

Just watched it now and I could see how it would become frustrating. Having everyone using a stealth + sprint combo along with "assassinations" would be enough for me to break my controller in half haha! I guess it'll all depend on the balance of the perks. It's still not high up on my "list" yet.
Right? Oh, wait they're paying you millions for demo exclusivity? Well fine then. I won't buy your game new and you can consider that money you got from whomever to be what you would have gotten from me because I'm buying it for the PS3 and I feel scorned. That's voting with my wallet!
It's got to be a real exception for me to try and be the pioneer on something like this and buy it first before trying to talk the rest of the crew into picking it up as well.
My guess? Half of us will rent it to check out the single player, a couple of us will spend 20 minutes trying multiplayer out and a month later it will be forgotten about.
With DS2 multiplayer, Bulletstorm, GoW3 all coming this year, plus all the shit we'll keep playing (CoD, L4D2, etc.) Crysis doesn't have much of a chance I'm afraid.
thats why i dont play any online multipayer anymore. and the ONLY reason i stopped playing MAG. i loved it but never played all the time, and when i would sign in on weekends everyone was level 40 already and i was like 10.
i liked when beat single player "milestones" unlocked multiplayer items. i dont like levels on online games. i want to see everything without spending 100+hours just to see it.
