Crysis 2 has become Electronic Arts' most popular release so far this year, beating out other major titles such as Dragon Age 2 and Dead Space 2. According to the sales figures, the Xbox 360 was the most popular console too, thoroughly dominating the PS3 and PC.
The 360 accounts for 57% of Crysis 2's sales, with the PS3 taking 29% and the PC raking in a miserable 14%. Maybe they were too busy torrenting it or something.
This news is notable for the fact that Crysis was always a major PC title and being able to run it was the hallmark of a powerful gaming computer. PC fans have been upset at the console inclusion, blaming it for "dumbing down" the game and not looking pretty enough without manual tweaking.
I wouldn't expect EA to care much now, though, since the PC is apparently not where the money is. Can't fault people for wanting their games to actually sell, y'know?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Astalano, C.R.E.A.M. remember this.
Also, LOL PC GAYMURS DON'T BAI GAYMEZ TEHY TORRENTZ THEM CUZ IS PIRACEEE DURRR ARRRRGG.
Eggsbawks.
Captain Obvious.
After looking through the lens of truth comparison i think it "looked" better on the PS3 - But still, from playing the demo I pegged it as a rental anyway, so I'll rent it on the Pee Ess Trips.

Jesus Christ.....
Anyway, it's good to see a great game selling well.
Why do my thumbs touch so much?
That's why I bought a 360 shaped ps3 controller (the afterglow ones).
:3
Fucking christ guys get a brain.
I agree and since Bad Company 2 sold better on the PC EA should consider not supporting any future Battlefield endeavor on the consoles as they do not have the same profit potential.
COD had a stealthy baby.
Plus, here's a tip:
PC games always sell over time, never as much as consoles at release. That's just how the market works.
Fucking hell, if you could be any more ignorant Jim you would be a drooling monkey.
Time to buy a console!
PC gaming is very healthy.
Sorry that PC games sell millions over a few years rather than millions in 1 year and then being forgotten. Doesn't make much difference.
Yeah, if you release a sequel, the last game in the series may suffer. Personally I'd rather release a game (Battlefield 2) and have it sell for 10 years rather than have it sell itself in the first year and then promptly die in the eyes of the community.
Also, Crysis sold like 100,000 at release. It's sold 3 million so far.
Jim, troll harder.
PC was probably the worst selling of the three, and piracy is always an issue, but you should have at least read that and reported on it like a fucking journalist rather than insulted a decent portion of the audience for no good reason.
There are only 3 games in the series, where is this always crap coming from?
So unless these numbers come directly from EA in press release form, which I doubt, there's no way it includes comprehensive digital distribution information. Which means all the PC hating is blatant fabrication. A word of advice: when you're trying to bait PC gamers, at least do use your fucking brain.
I personally hate the eggsbawks controller because of the big battery pack where my fingers want to be, but that's not why I'm going ps3 on this one.
It's the only way for him to get noticed.
PC games are a pain in the ass - you have to install them, deal with DRM of some form or another, they hardly ever work perfect the first time graphics/sound wise, and I always have to tweak settings for 30 minutes before I can really get into the game. On the PS3 (or 360, but I don't have one) you just pop the disc in and go, no fuss whatsoever. There may be an install, but other than just waiting, you don't have to do anything.
Usually when I buy PC games over the console equivalent it is because there is a significant price difference, so I'm willing to deal with the aforementioned issues with PC gaming. But with a 59.99 price tag, I'm going with PS3 every time.
Bwahahahahahaha
Crysis came from the guys who made Far Cry. Last I checked, Far Cry, for as good as it was, wasn't the industry changer. Crysis was a rare jewel that popped up one day, it wasn't a major PC title.
That's a fucking slow computer if it takes that long to change settings.
I love how this site has such a distorted and ignorant view of the PC.
That's all I'm going to say.
Eww you want yer fingers to touch too?
(I'm kidding.)
What you just typed is the biggest crock of shite I've wasted my time reading in a long while.
Installing is a plus. I've never had a game not work on day 1. Tweaking settings for 30 mins is admitting you're an idiot, change it to 30 seconds.
Having a preference for consoles is fine but don't spout shit.
Its not the fault of the game developers, or my PC. Everyone has a different PC, so default settings just aren't optimal right out of the box. When you buy for PS3 or 360, each machine is identical, so all the preliminary work in getting it running optimally has been done for you.
What...?
I just spend about 2 minutes average per game on settings.
So, PC gaming sucks because you prefer to spend 30 mins tweaking settings...I give up.
I can not tell if you are speaking ironically unless you are posting that from a Wii or PS3. If you are posting from a PC then welp...
What the FUCK are you talking about? Crysis 1 sold 3 millions units and Crysis Warhead sold 1.5 millions, and both games were PC exclusive(Source, PDF from Crytek themselves, page 10).
That being said, there's still no DRM issues, I can let as many of my friends borrow the game as I want without any codes to input. It's just EASIER. I love my PC, thats why I spent over a grand on it, but until PC gaming because as simple as console gaming, the consoles will win every time.
Cause, you know, everybody buys PC games in stores. That Steam thing is a fad, like ten people use it.
I hate stupid people.
