Electronic Arts has released a trailer for Crysis 2's upcoming DLC offering, the Retaliation map pack. No price on it yet, although you won't be too wrong if you guess somewhere between ten and fifteen bucks.
Retaliation features four maps -- Park Avenue, Transit, Shipyard and Compound. It'll be coming to Xbox 360, PC and PS3, though for obvious reasons the PS3 offering might be a tad late.
Just picked up Crysis 2 on my Xbox last week and I have been having some crazy fun switching between single player and multiplayer. Both are solid experiences, which is why I am so confused with the general Crysis 2 hate coming from most gamers.
It pulled in my Black OPs passionate room mate so much he says he is now done with the COD series. well done, Crytek, well done.
I will definitely pick up these maps if they are $10 or under. You can shove $15 map packs up your ass.
The single player campaign was pretty intense, besides having a very limited amount of enemy types. The multi-player mode, the bread and butter of the super successful FPS, was rough around the edges to say the least. Again cool game but traded it after passing it on super soldier single player campaing.
Fucking fuck! Why doesn't anybody understand! Give us SINGLE PLAYER PACKS. Four new maps in which to squeeze our single player abilities to the max against the AI. Portal 2 should try and do the same, give me Single Player Test Chambers and Co-Op Test Chambers
As much as I enjoyed the multiplayer (to my surprise), I can't see myself buying this. I haven't played the game in over a month, and haven't exactly missed it.
It's one of those games that I loved while I was playing, but never really thought about when I wasn't.
Campaign was awesome, though. And I'd love to have some DLC that added some sort of horde mode. Those are my fav :)
Considering from the title, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be free, or at least a price people would actually consider paying for four maps.
The MP isn't bad, it just has bad problems with hackers, terrible hit detection, and rather unbalanced perks/weapons (several weapons and perks are terrible to use compaired to other ones).
Doesn't help that Crytek has been terribly politically correct in their PR and have done little to patch this stuff up. Good thing they are releasing the SDK in June I hear.
Also, rumor has it that this DLC will be free, which will spark some life for the online.
fuck man these expensive map packs are a real kick in the nads. Ya i dont gotta buy it but it simply existing takes away from the value of my 60 dollar game cuz ill have less people to connect to and Crysis already has enough connection issues. They should name it SUBMISSION MAP PACK cuz it feels like rape.
What the hell is wrong with the Crysis 2 multiplayer that everybody keeps talking about? I have had a blast and haven't really felt the need to play any other FPS right now, shits fun.
Granted the peer-to-peer connections suck, but matchmaking is always simple and easy to get into.
@browneye
And how much would this 'expensive' map pack be, considering they haven't announced a price? If you think you are going to run out of people to play with in Crysis 2 just because a map pack came out then you are delusional or lying to yourself as a reason to get angry with the game. You do know millions of people play this game online, right?
Electronic Arts held an investors' call today, and one of the talking points was the performance of some of its biggest properties. Unfortunately, some of the information that was divulged was sort of disheartening.
