Cryptic Studios informed Champions Online and Star Trek Online customers of a security breach today. Although Cryptic only just became aware of the breach, it actually happened in December 2010. Usernames, handles and encrypted passwords were compromised. All accounts that might have been affected have had their passwords reset as a precaution.
The intruder may have been able to access other account information such as full names, email addresses, dates of birth, addresses and partial credit card numbers. However, the statement stresses that they don't have evidence that this happened at all. It's a little bit concerning that this went unnoticed for so long, even if the information actually accessed was limited.
