Cross Edge coming to the Xbox 360 photo

This is a move I didn't expect to see. NIS is usually known for sticking firmly with the PlayStation brand (occassionally venturing into DS territory) but its fan service crossover game, Cross Edge, is gearing up for an Xbox 360 release. It'll be released in Japan as Cross Edge Dash this coming October, almost a year after the original game launched.

Cross Edge combines characters from NIS, Gust, Idea Factory Namco Bandai and Capcom to create one big roleplaying mash up and was released to moderate reviews (ours is still coming, promise!). It was one third-party exclusive I wouldn't have expected the PS3 to lose, but there you go. Apparently, somebody in Japan believes the 360 is lucrative enough there for a release.

No word if Cross Edge will be coming to North American Xboxes yet. Will your hardcore Xbox fanboy even know half the characters, though?

This game really never should have left Japan, just like most of the games the characters are from. It's just a confusing mess of lights and girly shouting.

I think I'll just wait to get a PS3 and get this. For some reason, it just seems like more of a PS3 game to me. Not that I'm complaining it's on 360, I rather like this news.

I don't really understand the point of going cross-platform only in Japan. The PS3 is slaughtering the 360 in Japan, so it seems that any return on investment would be relatively small. However, in the US, porting a game to the 360 significantly increases your consumer base.

I've heard this game was horrible, so I don't think anyone on any side cares about this decision.

And I've had every Sony system ever made (I think) and I STILL don't know who at least half of the people in this game are.

Talk about "limited audience."

This is one of the worst games I've played. Avoid at all costs.

I'm enjoying it (but I never really put down any rpg soooo take that as you will).

But I'm shocked........ That more than 5 people heard about this game, seriously no one even in my inner circle except 1 guy and a few dtoiders heard about this game so I'm not surprised there porting.

I'm kind of hoping it comes over here since it looks pretty interesting, even if I haven't heard of most of the characters. At the same time though, it is another strike against the PS3 losing an exclusive.

I don't know for sure, but I've heard that the Xbox 360 is popular with the Otaku crowd in Japan so this move doesn't really surprise me.

I'll admit to at least wanting to check this out but I am pretty willing to consume all things RPG.

Did LJN get into porting? Seriously, this is like the digital equivalent of passing an STD on. The 360's got enough problems without an extra burning sensation.

i'd like to see disgaea 3, if they are planning on bringing any ps3 game to the 360.

I'm very addicted to this game at the moment, but I have to disagree with you Jim. The reviews for this game have been horrible, so far (it's averaging a 3.5/10). I'm looking forward to your review, although I know exactly what to expect...

should have been Disgaea 3. If it comes with a Japanese audio track then I might be able to get this. I'd like to say that if this sold enough we might see Compile Heart's Record of Agarest War come over...but I doubt it after the mediocre response from the Atlus SRPG push of Zoids Assault, Spectral Forces 3 and Operation Darkness.

I think the decision to make the 360 port is less about the Japanese market and has more to do with an American and European release, this generation has been more rpg friendly on the xbox than on the ps3 and maybe they hope that can be translated on more sales on the 360

Guess i know more than half of the cast since i play ps2 JRPGs , a lot.
That didn't mean i'm actually going to buy this game though. At least the screen shots make it looks like chrono trigger.

So, f***ing what.
The game sucked anyways.
Besides PS3 gets Magna Carta 2 which was a 360 Exclusive in Japan now it's on PS3.
Don't know why people are making such a big deal out of 3rd party exclusives going multiplatform.
Neither Sony or Microsoft own these games.
Unless you see a Sony Logo or a Microsoft Studios Logo on the game cover accept the possibility of that game going multiplatform.
