However, I cant make myself criticize the system. I bought it the first day, played for about a week, then barely picked up for two months waiting until a good game came out.
But hey, when you're only playing Nintendo games, you become patient.
However, improving the eShop is a must. In my opinion its not bad, but Nintendo needs to give us the best they can.
Unless you're doing anything other than praising what people love then you're always going to get flamed.
As clear and beautifully written as this article may be it will be forgotten about the very second a negative 3DS article is posted.
How can you be against hardware? I just don't understand it. Anyway, yeah, 3DS. Step yo software game up, bro, and we'll talk. The hardware itself doesn't have a damn thing to do with it, AFAIC.
JIM, YOU GOTTA BELIEVE IN YO SELF. ONE DAY U GONNA CATCH DEM ALL.
I agree with Jim. I love the little guy, but dammit Nintendo, DO SOMETHING WORTHWHILE.
(and losing Megaman Legends 3 doesn't help matters at all)
You criticize the hell out of the system because there are glaring flaws with it and you want Nintendo to rectify them.
Criticizing the 3DS for it's problems just shows that you care about it.
I want the 3DS to succeed, but it's hard to think it will when there is a lack of appealing software for it.
"It has been out for several months, and I've barely touched my unit"
This is the sole cause of all your hatred Jim..
Apparently you've missed the entire mantra of fanboys.
Some sequel to a cult, small audience Megaman RPG is not a "killer app".
The system has plenty of other excellent games coming out that you're clearly ignoring.
Haters gonna flagrant.
I'm begging all of you as one internet stranger to another, please stop using this word. Please, for all that's good and decent in this world, remove it from your vocabulary.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA........ ahem , Jimmy, you make some good points.
As it stands right now, Nintendo is making the bad choice of spreading it the good stuff. They should be flooding he 3DS shop with goodies, which would cause us to spread the word to friends. Oh man, if only I was able to download all of the Mario games, including the Super Mario Land GBA trilogy.
If only I could download Battle Toads, and Mega Man, and Metroid, and....Here I go again, dreaming the unthinkable. Instead of telling my friends how awesome the 3DS is right now, the lack of any content is forcing me to tell them "It's not worth your time or money".
That said, quit being such a fucking hater. :P
I'm personally holding off on getting a 3DS until it gets the library somewhat approaching what was promised at E3 2010, or until it gets a redesign with a 2nd circle pad.
I don't let the abuse of a word take away from what it truly means, which is "a person who is a fan of something or someone to an extreme extent that they cannot accept any criticisms and like a fully grown chimpanzee when said thing or person is criticised.
I respect the valiant effort but dude, if it ever indeed meant that, it surely doesn't anymore. I know I'm pissing in the wind here complaining about the single most used word on a video game blog site, but it just needed to be said.
I got my 3DS at launch because I have a habit of buying Nintendo consoles early, but after the initial "wow" factor worn off there was nothing to do with it for about two months. After I finish Ocarina, there'll be nothing else until the end of the year either, given that Nintendo succeed in releasing their currently announced holiday lineup. (Metal Gear, Mario Kart and Super Mario those being, but Nintendo rarely release this many huge titles all at once. I reckon at least two of those will be pushed into 2012)
In the end though, all I really care about is getting some Donkey Kong Land on the Virtual Console. Those games cost a bomb to buy nowadays and I never managed to collect them all!
Having said that, though, I don't think Ridge Racer 3D or Pilotwings get enough love. 'Wings is actually a long game game if you take the time to get three stars everywhere, and the 3D in Ridge Racer really does make the racing more intense. I'm hoping Star Fox and Kid Icarus innovate the game and apply the 3d to the gameplay in a more concrete way though, but my fear is that if they succeed, all devs will wanna follow suit and development on the 3DS will become so expensive or complicated that we lose out on the quirky/obscure/Japanese titles that made the DS so great. Ironically, if that happens, the Vita might become the DS of this generation.
Actually the domestic violence comparison would make sense if the kid had a lot of potential and the dad were Nintendo being disturbingly neglectful. Of course you're allergic to logic so you'll just bash this post like the grown chimpanzees I mentioned earlier.
