If there's one game that has consistently managed to have great DLC released for it, Burnout Paradise would have to be my pick. Criterion is continuing to crank out new expansions, announcing a "Cops and Robbers Pack" on their site.
The new expansion will bring "the thrills and spills of cops and robbers car chases in Paradise City." Police chases aren't exactly new to the series, but we haven't seen them since Burnout 2, and there have been several iterations between then and now. Screens of the expansion are currently available in the in-game browser on PS3 and PC, while 360 fans will have to wait until they're uploaded to the Burnout website later today.
Since they're bringing back police chases, I'd like to mention that they are more than welcome to include other modes which have been left by the wayside. Specifically, crash mode. The pinball-esque, "Showtime" activity has never really scratched the itch for purposely wrecking cars which drew me to the Burnout franchise in the first place.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I love Criterion.
Now I'll admit showtime is really crappy (Yes crash was better) but it's clear Criterion put no effort into it. It's just an extra toss in. Instead they put a ton of effort into the key part of burnout... The racing.
I for one was really happy with this decision. Burnout is about speed, shortcuts, and takedowns. Not some crappy extra crash mode.
Bumping traffic around like pinballs (think Midtown Madness) was not something Burnout needed. Also Revenge had such an insane amount of motion blur that I could barely see what was going on.
Still... Showtime is really shallow and I think it was an after thought. I'm convinced Criterion wanted nothing to do with crash mode and only threw it in due to demand.
It's a shame really since you're right crash would have worked out well compared to showtime. Just start the event at an intersection and spawn a ramp / cars a block away.
The only feature I really missed in Paradise was aftertouch. Nothing was better than turning a crash into vengeance on the little bastards behind you.
Have you tried Burnout: Dominator? That game is all about speed. Risk-taking to extend your burnout boost chain is taken to the extreme.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
In the very last stage, you have to chain together at least 40 burnouts to have a multiplier high enough to score 1,000,000 pts. Awesome!
I'll welcome this DLC, but I have to say I miss traffic checking, more focus on takedowns and having crash mode as a nice extra, when a drawn out race was too much. I think Takedown was where the series got everything right though.
I wonder if EA realizes its eating into its own properties . . .
Isnt marked man pretty much cops and robbers anyway? Getting a shiny police car would be nice though.
I WANT A FUCKING DELOREAN!
