This is looking to be the best PSP title released yet, and being a huge FF7 fan I'm really looking forward to it. I only wish that they released it on the PS2 or PS3 as a huge console title. I feel like they may dumb the game down somewhat since it is on the PSP, and they are only releasing it for the PSP to try and push more units. Any action game played on the PSP is going to have its limitations.

also, does anybody else find the weird giant crab/mechanoid (like the fourth or fifth thing that zack fights) extremely reminiscent of the giant mechanoid crab in the beach invasion scene in FFVIII?

I thouroughly enjoyed FF 7 and this has that same feel,which I think is not a bad thing.

I don't want to buy a fucking PSP, damn it! I'll just have to wait 'till the tubes ROMatize it. I'll be pissed if every other cut scene is Cloud alone crying... or thinking about crying... or crying with his girly looking male friends.

I own every Final Fantasy game. I never got through II, V, VIII X, X-2, Dirge of Cerebus, or XII. I also haven't gotten through Persona 3, Grim Grimore, or Valkarie Profile. I just don't play these kinds of games like I used to, even though I wish I did.

oh i forgot thier was only ever one final fantasy game. well that makes me happy that thy keep making more and more ff7 based games.
meh. though I am intrigued about the whole 1 winged angel mythos. tell me more. I played FFVII but never finished it. Stop playing once I got to disc 2. k thanks!
FFVII's legacy has been pissed on so much that I no longer care. No, I didn't get excited about watching this. FFVII should never have been revisited in the first place, and to see it at this whorish level of overexposure is just ridiculous.
I don't know, I kind of liked the story behind Dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children.
Advent Children really hit home with me - it was everything it needed to be. DoC's gameplay may have been crap, but the story wasn't really that far from the original, and it sort of put things to rest very nicely (well... until Genesis woke up in the end). Naturally, you had to be playing the Japanese version, since the voice actors would make you want to slit your wrists due to how shitty they were.
I think Crisis Core ends their 10 year celebration (that's when they decided to re-visit 7 from multiple angles with different media), and it looks like it'll bring things full circle around the old original game.
We really were missing this last component, with Angeal and Genesis - it was a very huge part of the original FF7, yet wasn't explored well enough. Just the parts that were connected to Cloud, and if you cared about the whole universe, there were a lot of blanks, this being one of them.
I know some people wish some things to remain a mystery, but the fact is that we never really got to find out what the fuck was going on with the one winged angels. Hell, the final boss fight with Sephiroth was teeming with shit none of us really knew anything about (A One Winged persona in the heavenly clouds AT THE CENTRE OF THE FUCKING EARTH?) aside form the religious references they were spawned from.
Personally I'd like the lore as it pertains to the 7th universe. One Crisis Core to go please.

I sure was going to buy this on The simExchange if it was listed. This video should be enough to throw FF7 fanboys into a tizzy, and yes, move some PSP units as well. (Note to self: Buy futures for PSP when US release date is announced.)
FFVII is still special to Square Enix and fans, due to it really bringing their games to the attention of mainstream gamers. This PSP cut does look sweet and I'll end up buying it anyway, but I feel Square Enix are becoming lost. Their other good licenses that could be built on (Vagrant Story, Front Mission etc seem to get left and forgotten) require some decent love and care too.
I think Square should look at building on these licenses, as well as focus on FF. Haven't you guys ever wondered, why the Mana series has also gone downhill somewhat? More original stuff and other licenses, please Square.
