Put your rat suit on. Vogster Entertainment wants you to test Crimecraft, an adorable MMO that is one part Grand Theft Auto, two parts Shadowrun and three parts Judge Dredd (minus the whole "Judge" thing).
Yesterday afternoon, the studio moved the game from closed beta to full-on open beta. You can get in on the action if you’re willing to jump through a few FilePlanet hoops and download the client. Apparently, the official Web site is also offering some sort of admittance to the beta, but it appears that the page has been slammed into 404-oblivion. Either way, the opportunity to shoot dudes in a not-quite-post-apocalyptic-but-totally-perpetual-world is available right now.

Some guy posted a workaround using a new hotmail account and a bogus US address/zip code, though apparently FilePlanet just sometimes blocks non-american clients entirely (though I guess you could proxy).
Ideally SOMEONE (honestly the Devs shouldve done it themselves) should put a torrent up to spread it to EU users.
Holy shit, Gunz is terrible.
GTA4 is popular, so let's make a quick buck by making an MMO out of it. Oh, and World of Warcraft is incredibly popular, so let's put the name 'craft' in the title even though it doesn't belong there.

I wonder why they call it crimeCRAFT!!!? They should have called it shootingCRAFT!! or Counter-StrikeCRAFT!! or CalofDtudy4CRAFT!!!
As long as you're trying to ride the coat tales of a popular franchise by trying to trick people into playing your game by adding the pointless CRAFT into your title, there's no reason you shouldn't just go all the way and try to cram more popular game names in there. Just use a proxy and it SHOULD work.
Fileplanet's a 404 here, and judging by the comments, it doesn't look as though it'll be worth the effort to get it working.
I've played 3 days and i couldn't take anymore. Its basically a 3d lobby with shops,some instanced variation of "death match"/"capture the flag", The flag been replaced by the safe of the other team that you have to loot..
The Lobby as i call it is the city where you can buy sell craft items,a real lobby since you don't go to instance entrance you can access them by pressing U anywhere in the city. There are like maybe 4-5 different map being played at the time i write this with the most popular being chem trail something in a chemical warehouse.
That bring us to the bots,yes you can only take loot in PVE instances. And the bot are broken,if they don't start shooting you the second a pixel of your player goes past the wall then they will most probably sit there for a 5-10 seconds before they start reacting to your presence if you don't fire at them. They also have 100% accuracy with grenade and even when you sneak up from behind and start gunning down the guy with an assault rifle before he even turns around you will see that damn grenade coming to your face.
Collisions are ridiculous, Plastic sheets over a handrail will stop bullets but not cardboard boxes. And NPC bullets goes through a lot more than yours I can't count the number of times I've been killed by a bot someone else was fighting but the A.I. shoot me through a wall and killed me. Another thing, grenade blast damage you whenever the fuck you are,even if you are not on the same floor or hiding behind cover YOU WILL RECEIVE DAMAGE.
The art director in my opinion should have been fired, You have a city that looks like a futuristic one like lets say mass effect all if shiny neon lights everywhere etc. then the weapon style looks taken from gears of war, and the clothing so far make you look like a gay stripper. IE: (I'm lvl 15 and that is the best armor i can have so far...)cowboy hat a powder blue t-shirt with a bright yellow sheriff or jewish star with tight pants and flip flops...
So in conclusion,do no buy this game and is you haven't played the beta then you aren't missing much.
