Creating the perfect character in Champions Online takes time. There are hundreds of clothing and armor options, as well as a truckload of facial and body construction tweaks. Cryptic Studios discourages the creation of Batman or Iron Man by providing all the equipment -- there’s a finite amount of customization here, folks -- but there’s still tons of room to let your creativity run wild.

In many ways, creating a Champions character is like creating the perfect fighter in Fight Night Round 4, except this pugilist is a world-saving freak that can spew telekinetic energy from his noggin or crush the universe with his mighty forearms (or chest).

Call me uninspired, but I’ve decided to create myself in Champions. Below in the gallery are a ton of images that act as a guide through the creation process and can also provide a template for all of you Nicholson-a-maniacs out there who want to save the world the world as me. Take a close look at the mess of modifiers and the menus I’ve highlighted during the process. Also, keep in mind that I’m not the most outlandish looking character. You can create just about anything -- a beast, an alien, a masked crusader with a cape, etc.

We’re currently doing our thing in Champions, so expect coverage in the near future. But you don’t have to wait for us if you want to take the plunge. The game launches September 1st.
