Create-a-Superstar patch for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 is now live for PS3 photo

As promised, THQ has delivered a patch for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 that directly impacts the Create-a-Superstar.

The patch, which is now available on the PlayStation Network, will allow players to give their created superstars increased attributes after the completing the game's Career Mode once. Previously, you'd have to play through career mode to increase a superstar's abilities and attributes which was, quite simply, pretty silly. Additionally, entering the code "MAXCAS" will let players max out their characters, instead of going through the Career Mode.

Now wrestling fans are free to make their created character down to the smallest attribute detail. We know how obssessive wrestling game fans can get. THQ says the patch will be available for the Xbox 360 in early 2009, but a request for specifics came back with a "no comment."

I reviewed WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 back in November, and found it to be one of the best in the series in quite some time. Is there anyone still playing Smackdown vs. Raw? Have any hot created wrestlers you'd like to share?

shame they still haven't fixed the inability to use custom soundtracks for created character entrances. how the hell can i complete my chad concelmo character without having his intro music be from the disney movie aladdin?

Nice to see a company actually listening to fan feedback.

Haven't touched a Smackdown! game since Here Comes the Pain. They had Super Saiyan hair in that one :)

@ tazarthayoot

"I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming

A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
Now I'm in a whole new world with you

Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky

A whole new world
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath - it gets better
I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be

A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

A whole new world
That's where we'll be
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and me"

Most intense entrance music lyrics ever.

Maybe I'm using a different version (PS3) but I've never once had a problem using custom soundtrack songs for CAS. I have about 5 CAS all with different custom entrance songs.

I love SvR09, and as one of the few wrestling fans that isn't pure white trash, it does the WWE justice in all respects, especially the story mode. I've actually had a large amount of TV-style moments happen while playing this game with friends, and it's amazing.

I made a CAW named Handsome. He is as short as can be, has a massively long and thick neck with a tiny head, a unicorn horn, the word "RAPE" on his forehead, a mustache, maximum age, long gray horseshoe haircut, flowery ring attire, a cape, a super skinny body with a tiny torso and long limbs, and massive hands and feet. He's absolutely horrifying. He also comes out to the Boogeyman's entrance for maximum terror.

Basically, if he was in the WWE, he'd be inducted into the Hall of Fame after performing for one second.

Why isn't this stuff coming for the 360? They even got the DLC already.

An easy way I use to deal with this was just take my created character and just copy him. Then I would change his appearance, class, sex whatever. Still it's a good patch and I can't wait for the 360 one.
