This and SoulCalibur V will be the games that finally end Skyrim's reign of terror at my house next year. I feel a little sorry at times for Arkham City, Uncharted 3 and Super Mario Land 3DS sitting forgotten on my desk.
I've played VII, VIII, IX, X & XII but after seeing this I have to wonder: Has the dialogue always been this bad/hokey? (I've also been off Japanese games for quite some time)

@Sniper Bob 13 Eh, kinda? The general dialogue is fairly hokey but there are moments of well-written parts. Most combat dialogue consists of stuff like "I'll end your reign of terror!" and "For the light of all that is good I vanquish thee!" Very cheesy but fun.
This looks more like the Final Fantasy I remember and love. However I'll bet the Princess and evil dude fall in love by the end or some corny shit like that.
I don't see the same things you guys are seeing. Looks dumb and full to the brim with pretentiousness.

The folks of the world in the trailer speak Ye Olde English while the folks in the normal world (Same as FFXIII) speak pretty normally. I think it was a pretty cool design choice me self.

I've been hurt too many times by Final Fantasy. XIII was my last straw. Until Versus, that is.

I just don't trust Square Enix anymore with my full game price cash. This game will wait a bit, I am not falling for their collector's edition. Maybe part 15 might be worth full price, but with Square Enix's track record lately, I am not letting them think they did a good job with xiii-2 until they prove they have done a good job with it.
Nothing about this video seems interesting or inspired in my opinion. I have hated pretty much every design choice in the franchise since FFVIII (FFIX was alright) though so maybe I shouldn't be the one to judge.

who did voice for Akihiko in Persona 3, Joachim and Isaac in Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness, the new voice of Silent Hill 2(doing the fat kid with the gun; haven't played it yet sorry) and the upcoming Asura in Asura's Wrath
so yeah pretty prolific stuff :P
will definitely get the CE :P
