According to your priest, masturbating while rubbing up against your Xbox 360 like a kitten in heat is a sin, but thankfully, the Internet is as hedonistic as Sodom, and Destructoid fully encourages you to "physically stimulate your genitals" while watching these HD videos of the new content coming to everyone's favorite Halo 3 beta pack-in.
The first one, the one you see above all of these words, is a medley of the new game types you'll find in the DLC. If Rocket Tag is anything like my ex-wife, you'd think I would be able to come up with a clever joke about it!
Hit the jump for more videos.
[UPDATE: Since this whole DLC deal just hit the XBL marketplace, you could spend your time watching these videos, or you could just go download it all. We trust you to make the right choice.]
This next video highlights the additional vehicles being added to the game. The Patrol Buggy is probably going to be the favorite of the bunch based on its ability to jump around like a fourteen year old House of Pain fan, but personally, I'm looking forward to the Armored Vehicle. Nothing says "I have absolutely no inadequacy issues" like driving around in a six-ton block of steel.
The final video demonstrates the new equipment and weapons we're going to get our hands on in the ongoing battle to shoot our friends off of the tops of tall buildings.
I have to admit, when I first saw that shot, thirty seconds in, where the innocent woman is pinned to the lamp post, I started coming up with plausible reasons as to what she did to her husband to deserve such horrific abuse, but after running through the usual gamut of "burnt dinner", "coughed too loudly" and "sassed", I realized that she probably died alone and unloved.
[Thanks to PacoDG for the heads-up on the top video, and for being a "cuddler".]
I saw a good deal of the rocket shots in that first one were "Friendly Fire".
Sounds to me like someone wasn't too interested in the new game style, chose instead to just beat the fawk out of the other players to force their way to victory =)
Nex posting a Crackdown video? Is Summa on vacation, sick, something? It never ceases to amaze me how amused he seemed to be standing on top of a bridge throwing gernades at cars on the highway.
I played crackdown for 4 days straight when it first came out and then put it away. I can't wait for the updates so I can dust off the rocket launchers and give the game another go.
i still think i am officially done with Crackdown, even with this added stuff, even if it was all free (the way it should be). why bother with more weapons? the harpoon seems like it will be fun for a bit. but the heat-seeking rocket launcher and heavy machine gun already in the game are kinda broken enough.
you know what crippled this game for me the second i booted it up? no fawkin' splitscreen! until that happens, it will probably remain a "been there, done that" in my book.
I downloaded these early this morning (right after reading Nex's update) and played very briefly, mostly to check out the harpoon gun and new vehicles. One thing I did notice is that when I went to continue my game I could pick "Resurrect Gangs" but not the old option of "Crime On". The problem though is that I received a message warning me that by picking "Resurrect Gangs" all of my progress would be erased.
Now, when I say I played briefly I mean like 5 minutes before leaving for work, so I may have just missed something but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this.

-Wait, that's not the point?
Has anyone actually tried the Resurrect Gangs feature? Does it start your orb/race/stunt markers/experience over as well? Or just the gang bosses and thugs? I'd hate to have to slog through the endgame for another several hours to finish that shit up before I can go cap gangbosses with a cranked-out agent.
Keep dreaming. I can guarantee you that we will not see an open world game support split screen during this console generation. It's too difficult to stream such a large environment twice on the same screen. Something tells me they wanted splitscreen, but realised early on that there was no way in hell.
I'm downloading this first thing when I get home! I just wish there was a two player split screen mode, since everytime I try to play co-op it lags so much it's unplayable
Ups: Seems from the xbox official game forum and the crackdown forum that some players are losing game progress they shouldn't. It looks to be a co-op glitch, though some player report losing agent stats and completed races/orbs/stunts even in single player. As far as I can discern, apply the update before you apply the DLC, and that seems to yeild the best results.
I didnt see this last night when I got on so I thought maybe it was delayed but when I turned on the ol'360 this mornin' it was there for me to download! WHAT?!?!? YEAAAAAAAAH!
Some people are having problems with online co-op and stats resetting, people who dl these content packs BEWARE,id avoid co-op till this is sorted or say fuck if if you don't mind having a fetal agent again
I read about this on xbox.com forums and the official crackdown boards
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Nevermind, it's freakin hilarious. This DLC is comprised of previously unheard of amounts of Win.
