Uh oh -- trouble in paradise!

According to the buzz on various Crackdown related message boards, some users are reporting some major issues after installing the latest batch of mind blowingly awesome DLC.

How bad could it be? How about game saves being deleted and progress being reset? If you've worked hard to get 499 hidden orbs, you might want to read what this particularly unhappy player had to say about his experience:

I was playing co-op with a friend, he ended the game, and I jumped into a solo game.   I did not choose the "ressurect gangs" option.  To my horror, my game was completely reset... brand new as if I just bought it today.  I backed out to the dashboard, hoping it didn't save and then rebooted the game.  It's still a brand new game... all that leveling, all 499 orbs gone, all 350-something hidden orbs gone.

Ouch. Other players who have reported a similar experience after playing co-op games with friends. So until this is all sorted out, you might want to ignore all of your friends. Tell them you have to wash your hair or something.

In other Crackdown DLC related news, Destructoid writer Nex is reporting that his system is now displaying the dreaded Red Rings of Death after attempting to play a co-op game with Aaron Linde.

I'm going to go play Calling All Cars now ... you guys have fun with this.

[Update: Well that was fast! It seems Real Time Worlds is on the case, already releasing a temporary fix for the issue which can be found here . Thanks Arrested Developer!]

Heh, glad I have yet to play it. I'll wait until it's all sorted out. No way I'm losing my 100% of everything.

I'm sure Major Nelson will try to spin this as offering players more replay value.

I guess there had to be something to balance out the awesomeness that was this update. So to everyone who thought they were downloading the free stuff: nothing is free.

Yea, I got my maxed agent erased. I played one lousy coop game with my roommate, fully aware of the potential danger, and I got fucked for it. But it really isn't so bad starting over, still got all the achievements. But I want to drunk co-op, so I guess it does reall suck.

Okay, between this, the Guitar Hero II patch that killed some people's 360s and the Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC that deleted some peeps saved games, is it too much to ask for DLC that doesn't fuck with our 360s?

It ended up being a problem within the title update not the DLC i believe

Grim - I just picked up crackdown too. does anyone know if it's just the online coop multi that's the problem or the dlc in general? I will hold off on playing until they fix it. might as well start with the new stuff from the get-go
