Crackdown 2 was released yesterday, and those who bothered to check out the game's Avatar Awards will have discovered that plans are already in place for premium DLC.
This content will be required in order to unlock certain Awards that are currently unobtainable, meaning that when Ruffian could have been spending time and money to create a Crackdown 2 that wasn't an expansion pack, it was instead working on DLC. That's actually kind of insulting.
Two add-on packs have been outed -- Toybox and Deluge. Little is known about them, except for the fact that to unlock the awards, you'll need to complete "Fly Swat" in Toybox, and play fifteen minutes of "Maim" in Deluge. Maybe this is where all the original content is hiding? Who knows?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I dont mean to be quite so negative, but the first game was a lot of fun, and this one just seems to be a straight, lazy cash in with no real new content to speak of minus some skin changes. Oh well, at least we still have InFamous 2 for our superhero game desires.
Next we'll be paying to enter boss fights. There'll be "open world" games where you have to pay a toll to enter other areas. FPS games will require you to buy ammo, racing games you need insurance... You see where it's going. And it will all convienetly be linked to you're credit cards.
The future of gaming ladies and gentlemen... Embrace it.
LOL @ LOL'ing @ inFAMOUS 2
So far anyways The Crackdown games have impressed me the least out of any 360 title I've played. They're really generic, and even the most generic of games have atleast something in terms of gameplay or popularity to hang their hat on. Not so with Crackdown, which in my opinion is nowhere near as good as inFAMOUS.
Ruffian is obviously trolling us.
That doesn't sound too far off. That why I still play PS2 and earlier. I refuse to embrace stuff like that. Ever.

That makes sense right?
this game is gonna to be bought when it hits bargain bins, unless they announce a proper sequel instead.
Bust still, relax, if this was Kotaku, you'd have already been permanently banned
But still*
Where's that deal going on?
Having to start all over again from the beginning after you beat the game is lame. They better add some free replayability in there, especially given its co-op focus.
I wasn't jumping I was Lightly pouncing while at the same time offering my opinion.
Besides everyone knows that come the end of the year the best place to get our "superhero fix" will be DC Universe Online, which will infact laugh in the face of both danger and games like inFAMOUS and Crackdown.
You look like shit. I feel sorry for anyone who had to conceive such a monstrosity.
I spent $50 and I'd gladly spend $150 and also give every Ruffian employee a BJ.
Funny, because they are milking the game.
Oh do shut up
...is there something wrong with me? Am I sick?
No, your MUM !
