Crackdown 2 getting video replays as DLC photo

Replay functionality is only truly worthwhile when A) you can pull off crazy stunts in-game or B) there are loads of laughter-inducing glitches. Anyone who has played Skate knows what I'm talking about here. The original Crackdown certainly falls under that first category, and I'm willing to bet Crackdown 2 won't be any different.

Video replays "won't be there at release, but that doesn't mean we're not going to work on it. We want to do it properly," executive producer Peter Connolly told OXM.

"People did a lot of things in the first game that we didn't really know could be done. We've expanded it a bit now so we're expecting them to do more with it this time," he explains. "A replay system in a four-player co-op game is not a simple task, and we want to do it well."

As you hopefully guessed, implementing such a feature would eat up a nice chunk of time, and the team only has so many people working to get Crackdown 2 out the door. Unless they have a hidden room with 100 monkeys working 100 computers to create this DLC, it's safe to say Ruffian isn't holding content back on purpose.

The replay system in Halo 3 worked great (even in 16 player games), and it came in the box...

Not hatin', just sayin'. Magnalon's got the right idea.

I've been spoiled by free DLC lately. Keep it coming!

In all honesty though, if I really want it, I'll pay a nominal fee.

Is that the Favela level from MW2? It sure looks like one of the parts of it.

I don't really like the way all the agents look all the same.

Also, I tend to think of the word "patch" for free content, and DLC for "you be payin'".

If it emulates what Halo 3's did, I'd be into it. One thing it needs: easy editing and sharing with friends. I guess that's two things...

"Keys To The City" was free, remember? Probably the same deal here. Hopefully.

@AlienGuy18

True, but "Gettin' Busy" was $5.

Like someone above me said, if it's worthwhile, I'll buy it. (I buy DLC all the time, after all.) I just don't hold out any hope that it'll be free.

If it's anything like the original, I'll eat it up.

But I'm skeptical of it since it jumped ship from RTW.

Please. Don't. Suck.

Hell I'll likely get it anyway.

@Patriot

I just read on Kotaku that Sony cut an epilogue from GoW3, but said they "might release it later." Have fun paying for that.

And here I thought developers only cut content from games to "gimp" them for the 360?

Take a long look at yourself in the mirror, P.Snake. Read some of your own comments. Notice how Microsoft and Sony could do the exact same thing, but you would condemn MS and praise Sony. Logic doesn't really come into play.

How do you feel about backwards compatibility being removed? How do you feel about Sony HOME?

Have you even played a 360? I sincerely doubt it. Crackdown is a fun game. Period. It's not on the PS3 and I hope that's okay with you.

Haha, gotta love how Patriot Snake will always side with Sony, even if they do the exact same stupid thing as Microsoft (or anyone else) and then use pathetic excuses like "durr hurr they dont want to shoot all of its load".

Backwards compatibility is an issue. I see a disappointed look on my customer's faces all the time. The PS2 was insanely popular so what was Sony's motive for removing it? Perhaps to sell more PS2's to recoup the loses from the PS3's horrific launch? I've never seen more iterations of a system in such a short amount of time than with the PS3. That's not to say they don't have good games, just like Microsoft.

Home is ahead of it's time, huh? Maybe it's in a different universe. Last time I checked, it's a horrible attempt at snagging some advertising dollars.

Don't give me that "less than noble" crap like Sony's shit doesn't stink. They do tons of dirty things to nickel and dime their customers, just like Microsoft and Nintendo. You might even enjoy it when Sony takes advantage of you, seeing as you like anything they do regardless of it's merits.

@ding dong who stated "Because like Nintendo, Sony gave us the best times in gaming. M$ did not. So Sony owns."

Why is UnPatriot posting on a xbox game? You don't own a 360. Plus, i wonder, how old are you? I would guess 15 or 16. Maybe younger. I can't see someone with maturity posting nonesense every day, all day long, and every comment is a statment about SONY. Do you have stock in sony? How many shares do you own? If sony sold turds, would you buy it, and polish it? I came to this site hoping for good game discussion from people that like games, all games, because that is what a a true gamer does in my mind, not being biased against all not sony! I have probably been gaming longer than you have been on this good earth of ours! Sony has given gamers some good (best times is your opinion) times, and will continue to, BUT guess what, so does NINTENDO and Microsoft, and PC's, and Atari, and Commodore, and Sega, and the list goes on, and on, and will continue to grow as time passes. It is always about the games, not the machine the game is put into! Get over yourself, and get off of Sony, it is like you continue to rape and molest them, an annoying stalker that cannot get the picture-people dont like your comments, period. they add nothing! nothing at all! Now, as a post should be about the GAmES-story,

Crackdown was a fun game, i really enjoyed it, but it could have been so much more, and that is what I am hoping from the crackdown 2!

You are right Jon B. your right, I am just fed up. I just started coming to this site more often because I was sick of 1up's fanboyish followings, and then gamespot and IGN started to become the same stuff. I was hoping for less of that stuff here and got fed up reading Patriots rant on every single story, its like the kid cannot stop, it is like he has SONY tourettes syndrome and cannot stop saying Sony, sony, sony, sony, sony.... God damn, I love my ps3, but kids like him make me want to burn it! I am not saying there aren't MS kids out there, but they do seem less annoying. that being said.
I lik eto read what Corduroy and mrandydixon usually has to say.
