I fucking loathe free to play games. It's pay to win, like TF2. The game is fucking broken, it sickens me how it's changed. I have 1000 hours in TF2 and I wouldn't touch the shit pile it currently is. You have to buy the hats to get the buffs, like a crocodile hat for the sniper THAT FUCKING PREVENTS HEADSHOTS.
Technically, this was unveiled a looooong time ago. It's just been very quiet on the news front, especially the last few months. I'm just glad it's still a thing, because it looks fun.

There is a thing called trading, you're welcome to use it to get the items you need. Plus that hat's like 1-2 refined these days, you'd have no problem finding it.

It looks pretty ass so far but it uses the Source engine so that could be why. Or maybe it's the lame model animations. Either way, I'll give the beta a shot and make a final decision based on that but in my experience, free-to-play games are usually shit. Especially azn-run F2P games.

Oh and one important thing I forgot to mention; Back when Jim Sterling basically shit all over Blacklight: Tango Down in his review, I revered it because it was the closest thing to Counter-Strike since, well, Counter-Strike. And being an old-school PC gamer, I instantly recognized that and loved the game because of that. I'd recommend Blacklight: Retribution(Free to play, PC only) if you'd like to play a fun, CS-like, game.

1)Sydney Sleeper (replaces Sniper Rifle)
2)Darwin's Danger Shield (Replaces SMG, Jarate or any other shield)
3)The Bushwacka (Replaces Knife)
4)Ol'Snaggle Tooth (Hat)
The Sydney Sleeper REMOVES YOUR ABILITY TO DO HEADSHOTS! Darwin's Danger Shield removes your ability to fight close quarters and the bushwacker is only effective if you hit the opponent first with the Sydney Sleeper so it applies Jarate.
So...IT'S ACTUALLY LESS effecttive than a stock layout.

Anyone who A) likes video games and B) had a PC any time between 1998 and now would (should) have at least heard of the name 'Gooseman', if not his real name. You can't load CS without his name popping up, and who hasn't loaded CS up at least once?
I'm actually quite insulted by the implication that Gooseman, of all names, is one core gamers may not recognise. That's like saying people who like music may not have heard of Eric Clapton.

Played some of the earlier beta stages of this (it's been in development for a while now) and it's pretty great, source engine, shooting feels meaty, you can blindfire over cover chronicles of riddick style amongst a host of other nice tweaks, additions they've put in, looking forward to the polished product!
