Could Scribblenauts come to other platforms? photo

5th Cell's highly anticipated Scribblenauts might currently reside on the DS, but that doesn't mean it's exclusive to Nintendo's little handheld. In fact, the studio has revealed that the game could conceivably go elsewhere in the future, stating that it would "definitely work" on another system.

"The concept would definitely work on other platforms as well and we’ve seen gamers from very different backgrounds pick it up and enjoy it equally," says technical director Marius Fahlbusch. "We’ve seen both kinds of gamers instantly taking to the game, the casual gamer that played a few games before as well as hardcore ones that play nothing but the latest titles on PS3 and X360.

"But we never limited ourselves to the DS as platform in our heads and we’ll see what the future holds."

Whatever it takes to get 5th Cell some much needed recognition and sales is fine by me. The studio is responsible for some great DS games that have truly helped set the system apart from other machines, yet their publishers never pimp them and customers rarely find out about their products. I really hope Scribblenauts changes all that. 5th Cell deserves it.

Meh. I'm getting the DS version regardless.

Only a PC version would be a good port. MAYBE iPhone.

I'd buy a Wii version with pointer-typing, for sure.

I'd buy it for cellphone, even.

A PC and Wii version with better graphics and some more content would be amazing. Or imagine a 3D version with Wind Waker style graphics(obviously a bit more polished, handrawn looking though).

I'll be happy playing it on the DS, but it seems like a good title to put on PC

DS is the one system that I don't have. Scribblenaughts almosts got me to purchase one but now I might hold off. I would be much happier playing this on a couch with friends.

Hells yeah, I'd pay for this and a 360 chat pad if they brought it to XBLA.

I'm growing ever more tempted to pick up a DS in preparation for this, so the knowledge that it might come to another platform is more than welcome by me.

Weird of that guy to say that the guys who play "nothing but the latest titles on PS3 and X360" are HardCore. Playing only the most heavily-advertised games sounds pretty casual to me. Hardcore is buying the Wii so you can play TG-16 games (even more hardcore is buying a TG-16).

I doubt it'd really work on other consoles, seeing as they kind of need the limited graphic of the DS to make all those items look acceptable while easy to make (time wise especially) . Though I guess it might not be that backbreaking to make it look better with such simple design.. D:

iPhone would work pretty well. Pc would work, obviously, although I'd want a bit more from it; in particular, the ability to mod the game with not only new levels and such, but also add new words, with their own graphics and behavior.
