Could Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles see a 2009 release? photo

Resident Evil fans with itchy trigger fingers might have something to add to their holiday gift list this year. According to retailer GameStop, Capcom's Wii-exclusive Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is set to hit shelves on November 17 of this year.

While retailer listings aren't always the final word on this kind of stuff, it's interesting to note that GameStop had previously had the game listed for a general release sometime in March of 2010. The listing was recently and suddenly changed to the earlier, rather specific, November release date. Capcom. A quick check in with the brick and mortar stores tells us that its system hasn't been updated, still showing the March 2010 release.

The trailers and marketing materials for The Darkside Chronicles simply states it will release in this Winter, which could mean late 2009 (like say, November 17?) or early 2010 (March, perhaps). Capcom isn't ready to talk specifics on the release yet, either.

"Capcom has yet to announce an official release date for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles," they told us today.

Would you like to add the game to your wish lists, or do you already have enough to keep you busy this holiday?

This one is already on my wish list, personally. I love lightgun games and you can never have too many.

I really hope we get it this year. I'm always psyched for anything Resident Evil.

I've always assumed it coming "Holiday 2009".

Yeah same, Holyetheline. My roommate and I had a blast with the first game, then I went back for a second play-through on my own for better ranks. I still haven't managed to unlock the extra level from Resident Evil 3 though.

I'm really excited for the sequel.

what are the odds the control scheme doesn't change one bit from the last game? Capcom will give it clunky controls like always

The devs should FUCKING STOP using "Chronicles" in every damn second game title!
