Could Piktura be the name of the next Pikmin game? photo

Siliconera made a recent discovery that Nintendo trademarked the mysterious name “Piktura” a month before this past E3. Could this be the name of the next game in the Pikmin franchise – a game that Miyamoto randomly announced at the end of said E3?

True, Piktura does have the “Pik” prefix, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be a Pikmin game. For me, the name makes me think of something akin to Photoshop. Could a new Mario Paint (Pikmin-style!) be on the way? An upgrade for the Wii Photo Channel, perhaps? Maybe the new Pikmin game Miyamoto hinted at really isn’t an actual sequel. Maybe Piktura is a spin-off of the series for the Nintendo DS?

This may be the most cryptic news of the day, but I will jump at any opportunity to talk about anything even remotely Pikmin-related. I think I love that series more than ice cream. And, man, I love ice cream.

What do you think? Any thoughts on what this curious entity could be?

Oh noes...I hope it's not a Pikmin flavored Mario paint. Yeah it was fun, but after so long, I want a true sequel, with full co-op. Any less, and Miyamoto's gonna make me cry bitter, flowery tears.

But you know, Piktura could be a new type of Pikmin creature based on some other flora that is not a flower that screams in joy when it dies instead of that horrible squeal we've all come to anguish over. Here's hoping!

I don't know what it is, but if it's not a Pikmin-themed Mario Paint game, I'm going to be seriously disappointed now. Also, shouldn't you be Retrolympicing? I'm addicted!

I want a full fledged game based off the WarioWare game where you kill the Pikmins. That was a fun time!

Honestly, it probably has to do with the Picture Channel they just unleashed in Japan.

Yeah, ice cream is great. I like flavors with a bunch of crap in it: cookie dough, oreos, caramel; it's all good. And it should always be in a cone, I mean ,what's the point of a bowl when there's a portable eating device designed specifically for ice cream? What? What's that? Pik-something? Oh yeah, those...uh, those guys are alright. But seriously, back to dessert...

I will laugh so hard if Pikmin 3 winds up being a mario paint esque thing.
