Could a new Suikoden game be in the works? photo
     DO WANT

I was just talking about Suikoden on last night's RetroforceGo!, so it comes as a pleasant surprise to hear this shred of possibility floating about in the series of tubes that is the internet. It seems Konami has trademarked the name "Suikoden Tierkreis" in North America, specifically for use with video game software.

Although it may not be actually used or could be canceled, it definitely points in a positive direction for fans of the series waiting for a new entry. I know it's probably too much to ask, but seeing Suikoden make the jump to next-gen consoles would be positively thrilling to this fan. On the other hand, it seems like all my favorite games come out on the PS2, so I'd be just as happy to play a new installment there.

Oh god, What system is it for?
Will they stay PS2 and miss the money boat? Go Wii and actually give serious gamers a reason to buy the console? Go PS3 and get bought by 15% of the people who want it. Go 360 and not sell in America? Go PSP and lose to an MMO?
Or go DS, and sell millions.

A new Suikoden sounds interesting. Hopefully this will be as great as Suikoden 5 or the 2D Suikoden titles.

What is this jiggle I feel in my trousers?!

I was impressed with how they really picked up the series with Suikoden 5, and it's disappointing to see that this may just be a glint in Konami's eye.
Hoping for the best though.

I hope this turns out to be Suikoden 6 instead of another spin off like Suikoden Tactics but either way after doing a fantastic job with Suikoden 5 I can't wait for the next game in the series

I wish they have the guts to go back to 2D. The 3D ones didn't work for me.

The Suikoden series is my all time favorite RPG series! If only they'd re-release 1 & 2 (localize the PSP release or put out the PSX originals on PSN).

I love Suikoden, but I think some major changes are needed. Suikoden V proved that some major changes are needed.

Personally I think the battle system in Suikoden III is superior than the rest. The buddy system was creative and made assembling your party a fun and creative exercise. And I always prefer battle systems that use positioning because I think it's lame for you and enemies to be on separate sides of the screen.

I've been playing Suikoden ever since my friend's brother introduced me to it way back when the first one came out here. Good stuff. But after 2 they kind of went downhill, I mean 3 was kinda cool but not as cool. 4 was trash, 5 was pretty cool, and I haven't played Tactics. Always looking forward to another Suikoden though.

This is the best news ive heard all day, I love Suikoden. Unforunately Ive only played 1 and 3, I own 5 but havent played it yet, and I know that 4 was garbage so i skipped it. The only thing I demand is if they make a part 6 they must contine the story like how 1-3 did. I hated the detachment 4 had, and 5 didnt really continue anything related to 1-3 either. Including Vicky in every suikoden doesnt make it a continuation.

I absolutely loved Suikoden III, and then my dad sent it in a Netflix packet to Netflix, instead of my movie. Anyway, this might be the re-release of Suikoden I and II that Japan got for the PSP.

ITT: We don't understand how the Suikoden timeline works.

I've loved every single Suikoden game. I even loved Suikoden 4, sailing and all. And all I can say is that this had better come out. Suikoden is part of the reason I keep playing games.

Wasn't there a rumor going around in an old JUMP magazine or something that said that the Suikoden series developer wanted to make a Suikoden for the Wii? This might be it. Plz let this be it.

Such a shame Konami doesn't push this series enough. While FF is in the works, it would be nice to have a new Suikoden out.

DS or PSP versions would be cool.

goodness me oh my, I would LOVE this :3 Though the remakes for I and II would be excellent on handhelds as well.

I found Suikoden 1 in a bargain bin somewhere, and I loved it. I'm so glad I got Suikoden 2 on release, because that game's gotten quite expensive now.

If anyone didn't like 4, I suggest you try 5, it was awesome.

If this comes out, it needs to come out for a 360 (so I have another excuse to buy one) or just hit the PS2 again. Although S4 was a huge disappoint (Ted side-story notwithstanding), S5 was effing awesome. Beautiful, good voice-acting, and quite engaging overall. I eagerly await an S6.

Great RPG series of all time, and the original Suikoden is the best in the series. I was hoping after the awesome Suikoden V that another release would be on the way, and I too have been talking about it a lot lately with friends! Thanks Colette for keeping my hope alive!
