Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends announced for DS, new Wii title in the oven photo

While we're still having nightmares about angering Mama because I overcooked a Japanese Hamburg steak, Majesco have gone and announced Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends for the Nintendo DS. In addition to containing a slew of brand new recipes, Dinner with Friends also includes several new modes of play.

While the game appears to stick with the basic formula of cooking mini-games, players are now challenged with cooking for picky, ungrateful friends who will be tasting and judging each meal. Additionally, a new Challenge Mode will let up to four people compete in a wireless cook off with only one came card. Customizable kitchens and a customizable Mama, along with a Decoration Mode tops things off (Get it? Decoration? Top things off?).

Majesco also reveals that a new Cooking Mama Wii title is in the works, but reveals no more details at this time. Just a guess, but we're pretty sure it's going to involve cooking.

Why they didn't do all this in the first one...

But I'll be buying this for a girl, most likely. Which is cool.

Aww, isn't that cute. Yay! More racial stereotype gaming for the Wii!

I guess this would be a time where Cooking Mama would find herself saying "OH, ME RIKEY!"

Exactly angel's don't burn! What is this racism!

Only the cooking "mama" has twinkling eyes! Like some kind of bloody special treatment!

Dear Game Developers:

Every hit quirky cult game does not automatically need a sequel. Stop being money-hungry.

Customizable Mama? So is ther an option to make her less EVIL?

You know she only invited those other fuckers over so she could butcher them.

By mention of a customizable avatar, I immediately thought of the following situation:

Generic Mii: Damn, I overcooked the shellfish again.
Mama: DON'T WORRY, MAMA WILL FIX IT.
Mama grinds Mii's face into frying pan.
Mama: WEAR YOUR SHAME.

I think she developed the twinkle in her eyes from the monsterous amount of cocaine she's snorted.

Oh mother! That is some fine cuisine if I've had any...

Well, okay, so I'm not that psyched about this game. But she is awfully cute.

I'm telling you, you HAVE TO SEE THIS BADASS MOVIE...
