[Update] Contest closed! All winners have been sent a code!
The Gears of War 3 beta officially kicked off today for all those that pre-order the game from GameStop. They now join all the people who've been in the beta through Bulletstorm. This week, players will get to experience Team Deathmatch and King of the Hill on three maps: Trashball, Checkout and Trenches.
Next week, Capture the Leader is introduced as well as the fan-picked map from the Facebook contest, Old Town. Then everything will come into play starting May 9, the final week of the beta. Die-hard Gears fans will definitely want to participate in the beta as this is the only way to nab a bunch of exclusive extras and unlockables that will carry over to Gears of War 3 once it's released on September 20.
If you're still looking for ways into the beta, then you've come to the right spot! I have ten codes to give out and to get one, just leave a comment below telling us your favorite moments from the Gears of War universe. We'll be randomly giving out the codes to ten of you after 11:59PM CST tonight via Destructoid's Private Messaging system. Good luck!
