Contests Official Rules

1. Eligibility: Destructoid.com contests are usually provided by sponsors who, due to customs and shipping costs (yay budgets), often limit participation to individuals who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (unless otherwise stated) and are 12 years of age. We encourage our overseas friends to be super sneaky and make a friend in the United States who can receive your prize, and then you two figure out the customs/logistics. Be cautious about who you trust, obviously. Employees of destructoid.com, their advertising or promotion agencies, those involved in the production, development, implementation or handling of Contests, any agents acting for, or on behalf of the above entities, their respective parent companies, officers, directors, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensees, service providers, prize suppliers any other person or entity associated with the Contests (collectively “Contest Entities”) and/or the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members (whether related or not) of each such employee, are *not* eligible and will be fired and publicly beaten if are caught participating. All U.S., federal, state and local and regulations apply.
2. Agreement to Official Rules: Participation in the Contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. 3. Entry Period: The start and end dates/times of each Contest (the “Entry Period”) will be posted on the applicable Contest site.
4. Entry: To enter a Contest, follow the instructions on the Contest site. Submission will result in one (1) entry. The number of times you can enter the Contest will be posted on the applicable Contest site. The use of any agencies or automated software to submit entries will void all entries submitted by that person.
5. Drawing: At the conclusion of the Entry Period, we will select the names of the potential winners in a random drawing of all eligible entries received during each Entry Period. The number of winners to be selected in a specific Contest will be posted on the applicable Contest site. The odds of being selected as a potential winner depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Potential winners will be contacted via email and will be asked to provide their full name, age and mailing address within a specified time period. If a potential winner does not respond within the timeframe stated in the notification email, we may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from all entries received during the Entry Period. Limit one (1) prize per household per Contest.
6. Requirements of the Potential Winners: Winners will be notified by the e-mail address associated with their account on destructoid.com.com and/or receive a Private Message on destructoid.com.com or through a Twitter Direct Message/Facebook message. 7. Prize(s): The prize(s) (including each prize’s approximate retail value) available to be won in a specific Contest will be posted on the Contest site. No cash or other substitution may be made, except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The winners are responsible for any taxes and fees associated with receipt or use of a prize. Prizes will be mailed between 1 to 45 business days after winners have replied with their required info.
8. General Conditions: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the prizes at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. In case of a dispute as to the owner of an entry, entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the screen name from which the entry is made. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
9.Release and Limitations of Liability: By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Contest Entities from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Contest Entities’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Contest, and in no event shall the Contest Entities be liable for attorney’s fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
10. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsors in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the Commonwealth of Virginia or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Commonwealth of Virginia.
11. Have fun with our contests and be a good sport when you win or lose. Remember: First you get the power, then you get the money, then get the baby.
When you say 11:59 tonight do you mean the night of Tuesday or Wednesday? Because over here it's 1:26 and I've been assuming they've Ben conviently posted at 1 AM so they run all throughout the day.
I ask because I wanted to enter the KISS guitar haiku thing but I didn't sweat it because I thought it would get re-posted before the day was officially over and I could enter then but unless I'm mistaken it never got reposted. So now I'm just kinda confused.
God I want my laptop.
It has nothing to do with all of these men wrestling in chocolate pudding, shouting, "Hike!" "Post up!" or "TOUCHDOOOOOOWN!" It has nothing to do with myself strapping on some shoulder pads and playing shirts and skins with them. It has nothing to do with them "Passing" their obviously superior genetic makeup into my more than willing womb. This DLC is nothing like how I imagined it. Mmmmmmm, Mr. Brady! Spoooooooooooorts.
The Passing is scheduled for release on Xbox Live and Steam in Spring 2010. It's my birthday Valve, make my dreams come true.

Wedge is off to a good start!
hurp durp hamza
The campaign, which is called "The Passing," is clearly a direct reference to Passage, which is the greatest game that the gamer gods of Gametibbia (I read about it in some college I go to that doesn't give letter grades but instead gives passion grades; which of course I am the most passionate.) have ever bestowed on our world. The DLC has no tentative release date or price yet, but one thing is sure, I will somehow make this quick meet and greet into a 400 paragraph doctoral thesis on how Valve is somehow using this campaign to point out the shortcomings in the sex life and social life of it's devoted players.
EVERYTHING IS A METAPHOR.
I'm sure you guys know how much I, Chad Concelmo, love the 4 survivors from Left 4 Dead, well maybe you don't, but let me assure you, I freaking LOVE them. This love is so extreme, that even as I play the the (AMAZINGLY superior) sequel, Left 4 Dead 2 I can't help but feel saddened by the absence of my beloved original 4 survivors, Bill, Zoe, Louis, and Francis.
Don't let my amazing and heartwarming news post fool you though, the original Valve flavoured fab-four will not actually be playable in the new DLC. Nick, Coach, Ellis, and Rochelle will only meet up with them at some point during the new campaign, "The Passing".
Though the previous said news will not be the only new EXCITING thing to show it's handsome, handsome face in the new DLC, there is a new gun and melee weapon planned, an unknown new co-op mode, and new maps for Survival, Scavenge and Versus. This is very, very exciting news if I do say so my self.
Valve has all this great new stuff planned for a spring 2010 release, what an amazing way to start off the new year, eh guys? :D <3
-Brad Nicholson
The original Left 4 Dead survivors are showing up in the latest Left 4 Dead 2 DLC from Valve (makers of the Half-Life 2 series, which I am currently playing for the first time ever) which is supposed to be set just after the events of "Dead Center." What this has to do with Sports has yet to be seen.
Unfortunately you can't create your own characters and have their in-game stats follow the real life stats of actual zombie killers. You can, however, play as Nick, Coach, Ellis, and Rochelle, who all meet up with the original four survivors in the middle of the campaign.
With the new DLC also comes new all kinds of new play modes, lots of cool new weapons (who's ready to see a hockey stick?), and new Uncommon Infected.
The Passing is scheduled to hit Xbox Live and Steam in Spring 2010.#Yankees
Tho, I gueth I'm allowed to tell you guyth about the new Left 4 Dead 2 DLC now. Valve told me about it, like, monthth ago tho I'm pretty much over it. But anyway ith coming out March next year and it hath those guys from the first game? Thoey and Louith and Franthith and Bill. Yeah, they're tho back. I gueth I wath pretty thtoked about it until I heard about all the new Rock Band thtuff which ith thtill embargoed. I can tell you that it may actually have a chanth of making me uthe my 360 for thomthing other than iCarly for twelve minuth.
DLC what has been Released: Left 4 Dead 2
My uncle Reg once gave me some DLC. Well it wasn't so much DLC as it was his penis, but thats not wats important. What is important is that Valve is deciding to do this thing which is releasing content for a game called Left 4 Dead 2 thats popular somewhat.
More importantly don't forget to download this content I've talked about from Xbox Live Marketplace. Even if you own the game on PS3, which would make you an idiot, buy it from Xbox Live as this will prevent you from being Sonied up the ass.
Of course, Valve wouldn't ever consider being too kind to us, so naturally we'll still be playing the characters from Left 4 Dead 2. The original characters from the first game in the series will probably make five minute cameos during the course of the campaign as if in some terrible situational comedy on the CW. All eight members will meet and probably exchange witty dialogue and a quick laugh track before going their separate ways.
At the very least, The Passing will give us new Uncommon Infected, some Survival, Scavenge and Versus maps, and an unexplained co-op mode that'll require a two or three patches before working properly. We'll also get a reskinned firearm of some sort and possibly a nailboard to replace the bat, or at least some other vaguely familiar melee weapon.
The Passing is scheduled to hit Xbox Live and Steam in Spring 2010.

After World War II, the men came home together on troop ships, but the Vietnam
vet often arrived home within 48 hours of jungle combat. Perhaps the most dramatic difference between World War II and Vietnam was coming home. None of them received a hero's welcome.
According to a Veteran's Administration study, half of the Vietnam combat veterans suffered from what psychiatrists call Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Many vets complain of alienation, rage, or guilt. Some succumb to suicidal thoughts. Eight to ten years after coming home, almost 800000 men are still fighting the Vietnam War.
Hit the jump if you want to have your minds blown, dear readers.
Anyway, our intrepid heroes will joyously be heading to the American South in Left 4 Dead 2's brand new DLC! "The Passing" Unfortunately, to my knowledge, "The Passing" has nothing to do with the masterpiece known as "Passage". We will simply have to wait and see if our intrepid Survivors will be going on an epic and genre defining journey into the fabled and holy land that lies perfectly in-between narrative and interactivity or if they will simply be arriving in Georgia for a new campaign set just after the events of "Dead Center."
However, when I found out that players will still take on the roles of the L4D2 cast, I was more depressed than when I looked at the view-count for last week's Hey Ash. By the way, it's not too late to pick up that special stocking stuffer, Hey Ash Watcha' Playin' Season 1 DVD (while supplies last!). Anyway, the infinitely inferior survivors will meet up with the superfluously superior survivors during the course of the campaign. This will mark the first face-to-face meeting of all eight survivors. To translate that into lay-speak, this will be the greatest moment in gaming history, rivaled only by the existence of Far Cry 2 and it's capacity for free choice in a way that no other game has yet to achieve. Have I mentioned that I completed a Perma-Death playthrough of the game. I would suggest that you try it, but it's pretty hard. I'm pretty cash, for having done it.
In addition to the new story mode, The Passing brings us a brand new Uncommon Infected, who is guaranteed to push your shit all the way in. There will also be new maps for Survival, Scavenge and Versus and a mysterious new co-op mode. Finally, there will be a brand new firearm and a new melee weapon present to help enhance the narrative thrust. All in all, this is shaping up to be the Citizen Kane of DLC.
You should have plenty of time to complete your Far Cry 2 Perma-Death playthrough by Spring 2010, which is also when we can expect to see "The Passing" hit Xbox Live and Steam.
Also, Doctor Who.

(Not hating. Big Anthony fan.)
Left 4 Dead 2's first DLChas been announced and will feature the original BLATANTLY BETTER L4D survivors crossing paths with the survivors of the recently released L4D2. ROCHELLE AND ZOEY PAIRING CONFIRMED!
-Jim
(i know i cantt win but meeeeh)
Here's the rub, however -- players will still take on the roles of Nick, Coach, Ellis and Rochelle. They will meet up with the original four Survivors during the course of the campaign. This will mark the first face-to-face meeting of all eight survivors, and it should be pretty epic. In any case, it'll be good to see the older (better) team once again.
In addition to the new story mode, The Passing brings us a brand new Uncommon Infected, new maps for Survival, Scavenge and Versus and a mysterious new co-op mode. In addition, there will be a brand new firearm and a new melee weapon to up the zombie-smashing ante.
The Passing is scheduled to hit Xbox Live and Steam in Spring 2010.
It's what Jim Sterling should have wrote. Yes I copypasted and only added a bad joke.
also cocks!
or
Holy fucking shit! Original cast of L4D to appear in sequel L4D2 as DLC. This wont be coming to Sony's big box of Blu-ray or PSN because sony are cunts.
take your pick. i imagine both are winners ^_^
Sorry, bluexy, but you automatically fail at being me.
- Mr Destructoid.
Hey everybody! It's me! Sports Sarkar! New L4D2 DLC is just around the corner, with that hooker who would never ever touch me no matter how much money I had because I look like I wanna blow shit up, and I do, but with my ass. In this DLC you can play with a baseball bat, just like The Biggs, the best game EVAR! You can run around and jump and laugh and play with your baseball bat because I love it. Baseball, how awesome is that. Yankees are the best team in the world, like Ichiro. I love my baseball bats, I have nine of them, one for each time a day I masturbate thinking of the Yankees. Oh yeah, L4D2 DLC has some new stuff. Screw that shit though, I love my in-game baseball bat, which has to be like the BEST DLC FROM GAMESTOP EVAR!!!!!! Oops, I got spunk on my keys.
--Eeyore, I mean Jim
If you're like me, and you like your downloadable content to contain content, you should check out the Left 4 Dead 2 DLC: "The Passing". It gave me a chubby and also I think that something came out in my pants. It is wet but not unpleasant.
In Left 2 Dead 4: "The Pissing", you reprise the roles of Nick, Coach, Ellis and Rochelle and play though a new campaign called "Dead Center." It has new content in its content such as zombies and guns, which I don't believe have popped up in this series before.
While I can merely speculate as to the pure sexual nature of this content, I can definitely confirm that indeed ZOMBIES are involved. My favorite zombie is the zombie Gary Coleman that cries and vomits blood. I like to touch myself while playing this section of the game and eat various foods made from various animals.
Supposedly you run into the 4 survivors from the original game, but I haven't made it past the masterbation-inducing Gary Coleman zombie yet.
In conclusion, the 48 polygons that comprise the upper asscrack of the Gary Coleman zombie are a better game than Assassin's Creed 2. If you disagree with me, then I weep for your soul, because I will rape it tonight while you sleep.
(Obligatory flame inducing/comment grabber) Here is a picture of large breasts. There is no god.
-Jim
Anyway, The really cool fun loving characters of left 4 dead are going to run into the boring hicks in left 4 dead 2's upcoming down-loadable Content titled appropriately enough The Passing. Now you can actually meetup with and wish you were still playing left 4 dead all over again. It's like valve put up with the but hurt whiners then turned around and gave them a golden shower - Full of zombies and bullets.
Not that i really care or anything about DLC considering I have all this Tea to drink; Fish and Chips to eat and can't find that controller I had in that sandwich last night anyway. It comes out in the future sometime, probably sooner or later.
-Sir Jim Sterling, Bitish person and VIDEOGAME JOURNALIST
Are you excited? because I sure am. Grab that auto shotgun and a couple of pipe bombs and read on. Today Valve announced that they are working on a dlc for the original L4D and I'm pumped up to tell you that the original cast of survivors -- Bill, Zoey, Francis and Lois -- are getting a more anime look ( accessible through the option menu) and even more good news. Our original characters will be joining the new game's four heroes --Nick, Coach, Ellis and Rochelle-- and they are going to be meeting up in a brand new campaign that takes place in Jap-- wait no? but I just read.., are you sure?, why are you laughing? ..I see.
It seems the original and the new cast isn't going to Japan and instead they are headed south in a campaign that takes place right after L4D 2's Dead Center. There are also new infected, maps, and even a new gameplay mode.
But none of it matters ..
Valve, I'm not saying you're a bad company. But you have to listen to your fans. And what us fans want is a more cel shaded look. Maybe give Zoey some whiskers, Bill a longer more Inuyasha like hair, Lois some unrealistic over gelled hair, and can we PLEASE make Francis less grumpy and more emo? It'd be great if you would give us anime fans some respect.
For everybody else, head over to Japanator and get yourself judo swept through the ins and outs of the Japanese culture. Even if you're just in for the hentai.
- thanks for reading and i hope i win.. I also hope Brad Rice isn't taking this seriously. It's all in good fun :P
Hit the button to read what i didn't want you to see below this hit the button link.
Its called "The Passing" and thankfully enough it doesn't involve passing zombie kidney stones, but that actually could be what i'm doing today if it sucks, but its valve so it won't but i'm afraid the kidney stones are still coming, just not zombified of course.
The dlc brings the survives back to do something they apparently couldn't do in l4d1 so it should be good because it'll never come out on the ps3. Did i mention it will never come out on the ps3?
The price of it is something something moon dollars i don't understand. But its microsoft so they have every right to start their own currency, even if its illegal.
Zombified kidney stones.
Hahah, I knew there would be something! I can only aspire to greatness. :)
April showers, bring May flowers. But this spring Valve is bringing a little more than a bunch of pansies and so should you. In a recent announcement, new DLC has been set to be released spring 2010 starring none other than our wise cracking, pessimistic, fancy jacket wearing quartet of original survivors.
But before you hurt yourself fapping to this somewhat expected surprise, here is the catch. You will still be playing as Nick, Coach, Ellis, and Rochelle as they meet the original cast by what i'm sure are completely plausible and realistic means. The DLC has been aptly dubbed as "The Passing", and will take place after the events of "Dead Center".
And as if seeing Zoey, Bill, Francis, and Luis in the blissful bayou wasn't enough, Valve is releasing a slew of extra content besides. Including brand spanking new maps in Survival, Scavenge, and Versus for your multiplayer pleasure. Also, to throw in a little flavor, new Uncommon Infected and a new firearm and melee weapon to combat them with. Now Valve is nothing if not a big flirty tease, so they've also hinted at a secret new co-op mode to top it all off.
What with all the potential games i am going to have to buy come next year, its nice to know i have something to look forward that i don't have to pays $60 for. Valve, you really do know how to touch my wallet...down there.
-Darth vader
it seems i cant get in this one TwT
so be it
Left 4 Dead 2, More Like Left 4 Dead 1.5 Amirite?
Valve has revealed that the original Left 4 Deaders are back. Sure to cause even more controversy from everybody that hates Valve, you'll be able to play with Zoey and the other 3 characters that people play with (but I don't). This comes to us from the almighty Valve in DLC form called "The Passing".
The Passing will add the new story mode, and it also creates a new Uncommon Infected, new maps for Survival, Scavenge and Versus and a mysterious new co-op mode. And for gun enthusiasts, there will be a brand new firearm and a new melee weapon to up the zombie-smashing ante.
Hopefully they won't come to Georgia as Zombie survivors. I only wish this because I fear Zombie Louis might fuel the racism charges.
Here's the rub, fapper -- fappers will fap fap fap the fap of Fap, Coach, Fappis and Fappelle. They will fap up with the fapinal fap fappers during the fap of John McCain. This will fap the fap fap-fap-fap fapping of all eight fappers, and it should be fappy fapic. In fappy fap, it'll be fap to fap the fapper (fapper) fap once again.
In addition to the fap fappy fap, The Fapping faps us a fap Fap-onion Fap-bagel, new faps for Fapival, Fapenge and Fapus and a fapulous new sloppy-fap mode. In addition, fap will fap a fap fap firefap and a new fapee fappon to fap the zombie-fapping fap.
The Pissfap is fappled to fap Fapbox Five and Steamy-fap in Spring Fappy10.
Also, cocks.
