Console versions of Risen 2 hit with a delay photo

The PC release of Risen 2: Dark Waters is nearly upon us and it's being followed, for once, by the console versions rather than the other way around. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions was originally slated for late May, but Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes are pushing that date back to July 31, 2012 in North America and August 3, 2012 in Europe.

This delay is what it is, but there's a touch of good news as well. Extra content -- a sub-plot called "The Air Temple" -- will be included in Risen 2 on consoles. A few more hours of gameplay? Sure, we'll take it. The PC version is unaffected and will launch on April 27 as expected. Our review goes up early next week.

Review: Risen 2: Dark Waters

Risen 2: Dark Waters is looking cheery in new screenshots

I'll say one thing for the Risen series -- it's not afraid of a little color. The pirate-themed sequel might be violent and gritty, but at least its violent grittiness will get a tan, thanks to the bright sun and tropical col...more

Sailing the high seas in Risen 2: Dark Waters

Ahoy matey! This here be a videogame about pirates, ARRR! OK, I promise I won't any more pirate jokes, but it's going to be difficult. Risen 2: Dark Waters brings the well-crafted role-playing of Risen into a Caribb...more

Preview: Risen 2

The original Risen was pretty well-received when it came to the PC version. The Xbox 360 port? Not so much. Piranha Bytes is well aware of that, so it is developing the PC and console versions of Risen 2 side b...more
