Conker: Live and Reloaded, Jade Empire headed to Xbox Live Marketplace?
Nick Chester

Conker: Live and Reloaded, Jade Empire headed to Xbox Live Marketplace? screenshot

If the recent appearance of Conker: Live and Reloaded and Jade Empire screenshots on a Microsoft press FTP site are any indication, the two classic titles could be coming to Xbox Live Marketplace in the near future.

Folders and zipped screenshots for the two titles appeared on the FTP server this evening, which seems to be an obvious sign that they will soon be added to the current Xbox Original line-up. Like all of the other Xbox Original titles, both are already backwards compatible with the 360, and both can already be purchased at your local GameStop for under ten dollars.

Of course, once they (likely) hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, these babies will (likely) cost you 1200 MS Points ($15.00). We'll be sure to give you another heads up when Microsoft makes the official announcement, so just consider this a friendly warning from one friend to another.

I was never a big fan of the box version of conker. It just didn't compare to the original 64 version (which is tits mcgee). Sweet for Jade Empire, tho.

hey fuck face, 1200MS points is $15. If the game was $12.99 it would cost 1039.2MS Points

Like he said, this is pretty much a rip-off. But I can't blame them for doing it, I'm sure quite a few people buy them either way. Not me.

I'd buy it if the multiplayer was the one for the N64. The Xbox one sucked.

There is a "Z" in the letter "A".

I've always wanted Conker on the VC (which I always knew wasn't going to happen), but now I can have the second best thing.

How the hell do people find this stuff? Do people regularly patrol MS's FTP servers? Anyway, I'm still not really sold on this Xbox Originals thing. It's a good idea, but it just doesn't appeal to me. I'd feel better picking up the games used on eBay.

Are they going to be updating Jade Empire to use widescreen though? In it's current form on Xbox DVD you can only play it in SD. :/

I just can't see myself paying that much for Originals. The FYE by my house has used copies of the Jade Empire Collector's Edition for $5.

Live and reloaded is the censored version though right??

Although as MrSadistic said, the uncensored version is unlikely to be released on VC.

Jade Empire is totally worth the purchase. I love the over the top Manga stylings.

XBOX BC is absolute shit compared to the original PS3. I don't see how releasing titles that show no improvements over their disc cousins(and for more than at retail at that), is proving anything.

And now that the Elite is dead, I'm wondering what the hell is going on all in all in XBOX land.

While Jade Empire is the most awesome game ever made and i love it more than some hypothetical; children i may one day have. Part of that revolves around my already owning it.

The people who charge money for these unaltered, over expensive last-gen games, also, are douchebags.

I liked Jade Empire a lot more than Mass Effect and i LOVED Conker on the 64. Me and my friends played the shit out of that but the multiplayer in Live and Reloaded is horrible. They should have just kept the N64 multiplayer....

I just picked up Jade Empire at Gamestop for $8 and it's terrible. Jerky animations, wonky combat, weird characters, and awkward dialogue. Don't buy.

the best part is conker needs to be on a faster medium than the cd that the xbox afforded. load times killed that game. the cart was the way to go, but hdd will work.

I loved, absolutely LOVED C:L&R on the xbox. It kind of sucks that they will make this an 'original' title instead of putting it on the XBLA and charging 800 pts. THAT would have fuckin ruled. I haven't bought any of the 'original' (though I was kind of tempted for Burnout just for crash mode), but can you have online MP with them? If so, I would buy it to play Conker online again. What fun stuff.
Jade Empire was a sweet game, but since it is BC it would be dumb to buy it this way when you could easily own the disc for less than the price for the digital DL.

I've never gotten the whole conversion thing. A 1400 points is $20 (which is actually a better deal than getting the points online for some reason). So 1200 points is a little over $17.

Of course this is in Canada. Maybe you Americans get a better deal. :(

Why couldn't they do what Wii points wound up doing. A dollar is 100 points. Simple! :p
liqideos's Avatar

Or an even better solution, REAL money!!!

Maybe cheaper prices!

If you want to compete, why not use the iTunes model, instead of locking all of our shows to the box?
