While some of you were running around fighting traffic and the smells of holiday shopping this weekend a few Dtoiders were fighting to the death for ridiculously fast gaming computers, courtesy of Intel and Cyberpower PC. The finals took place via Destructoid's Steam Group in a series of hilarious and odd match-ups hosted and refereed by our usual Friday Night Fight administrators: Grim, Aerox, ScottyG and CaffeinePowered.
While it would have been easy to have a Counterstrike, Gears, or Halo tournament, we wanted to try something different: a Team Fortress 2 tournament where two soldiers had to duke it out with shovels only, Demolition guys with Sticky Bombs, and Heavy's fighting to the death with their fists. The result was pretty quirky -- we hope to bring you the videos soon. So who won the Intel Core i7 system? Hit the jump for the tournament ladder and results!
Didn't win a tournament slot? No problem -- we hope to have more tournaments in the near future. It's pretty challening to host a gaming tournament for a community of so many people all around the world, but we'd love to do bigger and better virtual events in the coming months. If you have ideas on what you'd like to see we'd love to hear from you.
