Confirmed: Seaman 2 better than the original, piss in the ocean photo

Sega has relaunched their Seaman 2 site www.seaman.tv with new photos (don't drink the water) and videos of Japanese women spanking the monkey with the bundled PS2 "buttplug" controller. The little fella likes it at first but then gets irritated and throws a rock at the television, causing nothing but static to show up on the screen for a few seconds. This game is definitely going to mess with our heads.

The two new screenshots (below) reveal a question mark on the bottom left hand corner that seems to act as a minimal HUD for the Peking Man's development. In the cooking screen, for example, the question mark is only half full. I suppose that give players a rough estimate of how well they're doing, which is much better than trying to read the mind of a grumpy fish in the first game.

Other site updates include new videos, the older satirical newscast, and background stories of The Peking Man's origins. The most notable is the about page which outlines quasi-communist plans to genetically clone the hairy little beast for export to families worldwide. Nice. The game is still slated for a 2007 release in Japan with no US release date announced.

Will our now-beachman two legged walker guys still respond to "Seaman"? Will they shout "Seaman, seaman!" back at us? That's all I really want to know.

I'm so glad that picture of the Seaman urinating into the ocean made it on our front page.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why this wasn't developed for the DS. Seemingly cursor based interface, and requisite mic, liek.

I think this would be great for the Wii. And with the ever increasing user base there should be a market for it. Of course, the PS2 market is HUGORZ! so there is definately a market for it. But, DS and Wii Seaman 2. Make it happen.

Man, I hope this comes stateside and they bring back Leonard Nimoy. I loved this game. At the time, it was downright shocking how intelligent the game seemed.

I'm glad you chose to use that headline instead of "Seaman 2 is coming." With a pic like that, it would have confused me.

Or amused me. Something with an "used" at the end. OK, probably the latter.
